Well, I finally found the three worst things I hate most about Halo 4 MP…and two of them are hold overs from Reach. And the sad part is that 343i knew how badly these two things annoyed the community and affected the game, but they left them in anyway. One is a new thing for Halo 4…but everyone knew it was going to be bad anyway.
1: Jetpack. Because lolcoverandmapcontrol, right? Jetpack is an inherently bad idea for a game like Halo, where highly vertical gameplay and options don’t tend to mesh well with the game’s basic design. The Jetpack destroys the concept of map and high/ground control and totally ruins map flow. It also offers a pretty easy way to never have to worry about grenades, makes most cover in the game pointless and gives you shot advantage on your enemy (it is MUCH harder to shoot up than it is down. This is fact, and not debatable in anyway shape or form. Its basic Tactics and Strategy 101.) while making you harder to hit.
And it makes Forging a nightmare. Even some of the best Forgers likely grind their teeth to dust when they see a Jetpacker come in a ruin their map’s flow and exploit it.
2: Active Camo as a Loadout. Because we loved Infinite Invis Snipers so much in Halo Reach, right? Except now they can have the Boltshot off spawn too!
3: Random Ordnance Drops. This are absolutely insane, and lead to people losing fights even though they did nothing wrong. How is it remotely fair that I can get a Needler or Sticky Det. from an Ordnance…and then my enemy gets a Sniper, Shotgun or Incen. Cannon?
PS: Can we just get rid of the Scattershot? Its just pointless - the UNSC Shotgun is superior in every way. My FISTS are more effective than that weapon. You can point-blank someone with it AND NOT KILL THEM.
