The 2nd Verdict: Where we stand Pro vs. Infin

I have asked this before and I will ask now that we have Pro slapped into the Infinity playlist. I want a new sense of where the forum is at presently.

Personally, I am a fan of what the current changes have brought, and am hoping that slayer pro is tweaked to contain radar and for IS/BTIS, to be renamed to “Team Slayer”, and “Big Team Slayer”.

As a side note:

-Please try not to flame each other on why you think your variant is better. I just want a collection of your opinions, not why, not why yours is better.

I’d prefer a Team Slayer option that is basically Pro with motion tracker. I’m not one to rely on my teammates for awareness.

^ Im with you, op. Infinity was too much change too soon. Had pro settings been the default settings at the start, I would have enjoyed Halo 4 a whole lot more and then possibly even eased my way into Infinity, but that wasn’t the case.

I also agree that radar needs to be in pro since sprint makes assassinations and back smacks way to easy without radar.

Edit: Also, I want a classic playlist too.

Would much rather have a classic styled playlist. If I was to pick a gametype from the two though, I would pick pro. Not because I am some “MLG tryhard” (a phrase thrown around allot about people that don’t enjoy Infinity settings), but because I much prefer a more classic style of play which is balanced and takes some skill. With some improvements, Slayer Pro could be amazing. What this game lacks is a solid slayer playlist outside of Throwdown.

Radar in pro or not means little to people like me who are highly aware of what’s going on, and use turtlebeach’s or a similar headset.Footsteps are pretty loud.

Though for a good ol’ classic style playlist they should have just made it with radar like OP mentioned.Pro could of been the competitive playlist.Infinity shouldn’t of ever existed, because it just slaps everything i liked about Halo MP in the face and laughs about it.

Like i keep saying.Give me dedicated servers and a classic Halo playlist, and i’ll repurchase Halo 4 and play it almost everyday for a few hours at a time.Though lag is what causes me to not like Halo 4 the most. The rest is just a 2 inch thick book worth of minor problems but i can deal with them.

I really dislike slayer pro on BTB it needs to go or turn on radar.

Why havent 343 considered more balanced Infinity settings? Yet Throwdown has gone through a few versions. I’m not totally against Infinity because it could “work” with power up only PODs and power weapons on map. Thats a good mix of old and new.

No, thank you. Before you got killed by a Power Weapon you didn’t know someone had. Now you get killed out of nowhere.

Personal ordnance just won’t work in a shooter without creating unbalance.

Which is fine in a casual environment.

Get rid of personal ordinance or change it so it gives you ammo for primary, grenade or power up. Weapon balance the rest of the weapons that have not been balance and vehicles as well.

Motion tracker add in slayer pro BTB at least.

I like many others, want pro but with a motion sensor.

On big team you really need to avoid going around a corner and encountering 3 or more guys running at you, something you would have never done if a motion tracker was in place.

On another note I think everyone should receive stability instead of explosives. Flinch is rather annoying, I like de-scoping better.

Balanced settings any day over the random crap Infinity has.

Asking moaners of this forum if they like Halo 4’s default Slayer gametype or something that reminds them days when they were still young and beautiful… Yeah, right.

The Throwdown settings are not created or changed by 343 but rather a small collective of competitive players who are constantly testing and fine tuning the settings. The only thing 343 does is put them into MM.

What? I said POWER UP ONLY ordnance(OS,Damage,Speed). I’d even suggest PODs require 100 points. Power weapons should be ON MAP like classic Halo.

All I’m saying is some type of structure and balance need to come to Infinity settings regardless if people like Pro or Infinity.

LOL. It has still gone through several versions. My point is Infinity needs tweaking too. Whats your point?

Your point was that since throwdown has gone through multiple versions why hasn’t infinity seen the same attention.

343 may not have the manning or the time that to address the need for changes to the settings. Their focus is probably on other things like the weapons update or fixing glitches in game.

Throwdown however has a dedicated group of people whose sole purpose is to update the settings. They don’t have to worry about the rest of MM or game.

Comparing the two is completely unfair to 343. Its not like 343 is ignoring one over the other which is what I felt you implied.

^ This

It needs to be the same choice, every single time. No more free Rocket Launchers–power weapons are only on the map. Halo 5 Infinity needs this.

Fact is a fact is a fact…

,match after match after match…

Infinity for the vast majority of the time is voted before Pro ever is.

343i,you have the data…you know this is true…Pro is only voted on when all three options are Pro and some leave lobby straight away, others during the match AND, if two options are Pro and one Infinity, Infinity wins the vast majority of time AND if two are Infinity and one Pro Infinity wins the vast majority of the time AND…you get the reality!

BTIS and IS were the most populated play lists on launch day and are still number one and two as of this post.

Even mixing Pro in with BTIS and IS, the facts are still that the vast majority vote for Infinity over the Pro option each and every game.

Pro is only supported by a small niche part of the community and more importantly, the majority of people actually playing Halo 4 play Infinity settings, as your data about which option, Infinity or Pro is being voted for.

Pro can stay to please the small group who wants it. Name change? Not required…Infinity reflects the reality.

Radar in Pro, if that is what the majority want; I don’t care either way.

“To Infinity and beyond.” Buzz Lightyear

I play both. I play Infinity and I play Pro. If I’m playing Infinity I say load me up and have no problem with any aspect of the game. If I’m playing Slayer Pro I have no problem with those settings either.

Could things be tweaked? I’m sure they could. Will they perform any further updates or weapons tuning till 5 comes out? Who knows. But you learn to adapt to each variant and figure out what your limitations are in each one and change the way you play accordingly.

I realize some don’t want to play Pro. Some Pro’s don’t want to play Infinity. I’m thinking that debate will never end.

I enjoy playing Halo no matter if I know the guy I’m trying to melt has a plasma cannon or will stick me or assasinates me because he’s camo’d. I accept that as part of Infinity Slayer. The minimal loadouts and weapons in Pro I accept because it’s Pro.

I’m just happy to play. Whether Pro or Infinity I’ll play and play with anyone. It’s a great game. I’m sure to get flamed for saying this but it’s true for me. I speak for no one else but myself.
