That's it...?

So glad we all waited 3 years for some announcement of the next Halo game, only to be given glimpses of deer and mountains. Why is it every other video game announcement included ACTUAL gameplay or some excerpt of the story? It’s as if 343i had no idea they were announcing anything at E3, and threw a bunch of random -Yoink- together last minute like a haphazard and completely random school assignment. “Your assignment was to present your next game, but all you’ve presented is a bunch of random stuff that was run on your game’s engine?” They even said it’s supposed to be 100% about the Chief, yet he’s shown for less than 3 seconds? Assuming it is him.

Here’s the thing, 343i KNEW that the fans were most pissed off with the horrendous plot/campaign. Showing off nice but irrelevant graphics is not the way you show them “Hey, we heard you, here’s how we’ll make you guys proud of this game again.”
It’s like Ford falling short on their current model Mustang’s HP/tq output, and then focusing solely on the shiny rims when they reveal the next model. Thats not what we are looking for.

Listen it was only a reveal trailer the games probably not coming out til 2019 and I’m happy about it. They’re actually taking their time to get this right.

They must still be in early stages of development. I agree I thought it was odd. The new engine must’ve taken a lot of time to get it to their liking. Sounds like Xbox’s big end of year release will be Gears 5 in 2019 and Halo Infinite in 2020.

Well it’s called a reveal trailer for a reason, what more do you want?

the point was to show off the engine, not the game. I assume building the engine has taken up a good amount of what they’ve been doing the past 3 years. personally I think 343 taking their time is a good sign. it let’s us know they’re actually trying and being very careful about what they’re doing with halo infinite. they’re trying to make sure we don’t end up with another halo 5.

They’re trying to bring Halo back in a BIG way.

More news coming tomorrow, the guy who tweeted about the game has said that.

This was a reveal trailer to tell us the game was in development, they are going back to the classic art style (and likely classic style music), and they wanted to show off the brand new game engine (literally everything today was in engine…not pre-rendered CGI. Expect more info to drop in the coming months.

Just like Halo 5’s first trailer, it came out two years before the actually announcement trailer for Halo 5 did. In this time, you don’t get to see a guardian but old Halo style back. In addition to that, it’s likely you don’t have to wait two years but one year this time for the Halo 6 announcement trailer this time. Plus you get the comeplete reveal title on the first trailer. So be glad this is all you get right now.

Idk if I’m looking at it from too much of a business perspective, or if i had my hopes for this announcement too high.

This looks like they had 3 years to put together an awesome presentation showing how they will fix the -Yoink- cliffhanger that Halo 5 was, then the night before e3 they suddenly remembered the presentation and threw a bunch of random crap together to make it look like they got something accomplished. Think of the Halo wars 2 reveal, THAT was better than this.

“So Johnson, what are we gonna show the fans who were patiently waiting to see how the Chief will save the Galaxy from Cortana and the created?”
“Sir, I’ve got this really cool mountain landscape, and a bunch of rhino things stampeding!”
“… What does that have to do with anything i just asked you?”
“Well, nothing, but it LOOKS cool!”

You know they messed up the presentation when they have to explain it to people. It should kind of speak for itself.

One, Halo Wars 2 was developed by Creative Assembly with help from 343i and published by MGS. This was a separate project done in tandem with the main 343i team working on Halo 5 post release content and a team working on engineering this new game engine. Development on Halo Wars 2 may have gone back beyond 3 years (first one came out in 2010), but aside from that, considering the backlash they had wtih Halo 5, they likely decided they wanted to take more time on this, hence starting with a brand new, modern game engine from scratch. I was upset like you were earlier today when we did not get much, but to be honest, if it means Halo Infinite is on par with Halo 3 and 2 in terms of popularity, user population, and general reception by the Halo community and public in general, I would rather have a longer wait for something REALLY good then come back again feeling unsatisfied or let down.

Lol. I agree the herds of space rhinos and deer was weird. I thought at first it was a game for safari big hunting or some other hunting game and then MC appeared out of no where.

First impressions 343! Learn about it!

Open your mind child. This is but a taste of what’s to come…I know that you’re ready to drop down into hell feet first…enjoy the journey and not so much about the destination.
