So with the introduction if the Hunter Arm Cannon, we have been exposed to a whole new level of Halo Armaments! I have been having discussions on a few different threads and something keeps coming up, adding the Hunter Shield as a weapon. Now I know it’s far fetched and will probably never happen, but there are other shields; for instance the Jackal and Hardlight variants. I know Halo is it’s own entity, and tries to keep away from mechanics already featured in other franchises. But we have been seeing a few features incorporated into Halo 5, so why not a Riot Shield type armament like we see in Call of Duty and such. I understand that most of you cannot see it fitting into Arena, and truthfully I can’t either. But it would add an element of strategy to the Warzone variants. Plus it’s just be pretty cool to try out. Most likely this will never be the case, at least not in Halo 5. But anything is better than another Halo 2 Beam Rifle style addition. What I want to know is if a Riot Shield would be plausible in Halo 5’s current gameplay, and if so how would it work? You guys can come up with the rest.

I would lay a grenade at the feet of anyone using it.
Hunter Shield with the Flagnum. Slow movement and an impenetrable shield with the magnum. That’s a fun idea right there, especially for Warzone Firefight!

That’s what I was thinking. It might work with just the magnum, or could it work in other says. And yeah, it would be really weird to see in Arena but imagine all the players doing that around a core in WF?
Pretty much, it’d be Halo 4’s Hardlight shield. But not an ability, and permanent (or at least have a damage gauge), and you can use a weapon at the same time.
Well actually… halo 2 originally was gonna allow you to use the jackle shield with any dual wielding weapon… so it’s entirely plausible.

I never heard about this, but it’s interesting.
