You know what I’m talking about- you drop on the beach, take out the covenant which always seems to take forever for some people, and then move on to capture other objectives like the cloaked elites or hunter elders. Most people, however, choose to secure the closest armory next in order to contribute to an easy req level unlock. Of course now, people have found a way to break that pattern, and it is VERY annoying.
Every time I play on Apex 7 now, enemy Spartans come flooding out of the caves in an attempt to capture the armory that’s supposed to be ours to start with. And yes, while I suppose there’s always the possibility that my team will do the same to the other team, with my luck that never happens.
If you ask me, it’s unethical and a perfect way to show everyone you’re a Yoink! A lot of people complain about farming being a big problem in Warzone- but I find this to be far more offensive. When you’re being farmed, it’s cause your team sucks. And if you simply stay in your home base and hide, or act clever and sneak your way out- you can easily avoid being continuously killed. Because let’s face it- at this point you’ve already lost, but you want the RP, so if you simply stop running out in the middle of the field and hide, you yourself will no longer be a victim. But when this preemptive base capture crap happens, you’re not even being given a chance. It’s absolutely annoying and unfair. Technically legal, yet borderline unsportsmanlike.
On that note, I am sick of being on the receiving end of this BS and you can probably notice that in my tone. I am frustrated of being handed 4 straight losses in Warzone because of this flaw and the overall ineffectiveness of the saps I always get teamed up with. I’m not out to offend anyone- but so many of you more casual players are so inept at Warzone it blows my mind.
I’m done playing with randoms. It’s not worth the crap shoot anymore. I’m seeking reliable, effective teammates to play with who can get a minimum of 15 kills per match. Respond to this thread, add me on xbox live, and let’s be on the winning side of this Yoink! for once.
It’s called strategy. Did the Allies need to announce to the -Yoink!-’s which particular beach they were going to storm? No, they broke off to multiple beaches. War is expecting the unexpected, not “Oh Good Day Sir, Mind if I Capture YOUR armory first?”
Apex 7 is the worst warzone map for solo players
Why else do you think there are Mongooses sitting around outside the base? Yesterday, I actually rushed over myself with a guy for the first time. And we got there armory. Unfortunately, they did the exact same thing and got ours, so we started off the match with each others armories. And it was hilarious.

Fixed
I can accept that there’s a degree of strategy in it, but I’m fed up with being on the receiving end of it. I don’t believe it’s a good practice to get into- but if it must happen then I want to be on the team that successfully does it. That’s where I stand.
I agree that’s its too easy for enemies to rock up at your armoury on Apex 7. A good solution would be moving the mongooses at the beach a good 15-25 metres from the pelican drop off, that way teams can secure their armoury with more comfort time.
I try to get the enemy base(armory) at the start always not able to get them but i hold off the enemy for like 10 sec every second counts also a kill or two earned in the process.

Certainly you can find decent people to team up with. It is not that hard…it’s trial and error but it’s not that hard. Invite the better peoples on your team or on other teams.
Capturing a neutral base too fast is borderline unsportsmanlike? Yup, halo has gone to complete -Yoink-
You do realize you don’t even need to kill the covenant to take the armory right? As soon as you drop, you’ll notice a mongoose… What do you think that mongoose is for?
I’m sorry that you don’t like advanced strategies used against you, but that’s what it is. In a competitive warzone match, you only need 3 people to stay behind and secure the main base while the rest of your team rushes out to quickly cap open bases (including the enemy armory before they reach it).
Step your game up and advance with the rest of us in the learning curve or get left in the dust to lose games because you want to stick to some cookie-cutter strategy.
Good luck!

You would think sooner or later I would find a good team, but it’s happening far less than I would like it to. I aim for win percentages over 50% in both Arena and Warzone, I don’t think that’s too much to ask for- but I’ve just been having the worst luck and my percentage is going down because of it. I shouldn’t always have to be the best player on my team. Just this morning, I was put on a team with someone who I can only describe as a 6 year old playing on an older brothers account. Judging from the service record, this account had a great KDA across the game and a decent win %. But of course, I get this little kid playing on the account singing nursery rhymes who died over 30 times and didn’t get a single kill. Where do you guys find your teams? Because like I said, I am done putting my faith in randoms. It does NOT pay off.

Well it’s trial and error…don’t know what else I can tell you.
Capturing the enemy’s armory right off the bat is one of the most effective strategies in Warzone that I’ve seen. If the other team can push your team back in the beginning and capture your armory, it either means they are going for the quick core/kill, or they are about to farm the yoink out of you. It’s possible on every map. I know this because I’ve been on the receiving end one too many times. The reason it is effective is because it throws your team off balance. Not only are you trying to take Spire, but you have to defend/retake your armory again. It eats up time that could be used in other endeavors.
Your only hope if you lose your armory is to take whatever the middle base is on the map (Spire, Monument, etc.) and hold onto that for dear life.
But I agree with you OP, this happens substantially less when you’re playing with a large group. When you have a nearly full team in warzone you will more than likely req the other team just because of communication.

This is one of the most entitled and unintentionally funny things I have ever read.
“I don’t want to lose. I want to only win.
…
That’s where I stand.”
Haha. Good stuff.

Sounds like you need friends, try joining a spartan company and ask them to play with you. 1 bad random player can’t cause you to lose a warzone match. Halo is a team game, your chances of winning increase if you form a fire team to play with.

The way I see it, how fast your team can defeat the AI assaulting your base in the beginning is a measure of how skilled they are. If you can’t break out of your base in less than 30 seconds in Arc or Stormbreak, chances are you wont win in my experience. So yes, nobody’s forcing me to kill those covenant, but when we’re 60 seconds in and there’s still 2 elites that have yet to be killed, it tells me my team lacks coordination and efficiency.
And I’m all for using advanced strategies- I base my play style off so many unique strategies like taking long routes around to flank enemies or if the other team has 2 bases I’ll start capturing the armory and then when they all rush to save it, I’ll direct my team to capture the center base while they’re all busy dealing with saving their armory. I just can’t help but feel that this specific strategy is kind of cheap. And when it’s constantly happening to me, I get very frustrated very quickly.
Otherwise I swear I’m a patient person.

Yeah, it sounds selfish. But consider this, I’m only asking for it to be 50-50. I don’t mind losing, as long as every loss gets paired with a win. When you think of it as me just trying to keep a respectable win/loss alive, I don’t think it’s asking too much.
