That trailer...

That trailer had a feel that Halo hasn’t had in a long, long time. 343, you managed to recreate the feeling of Hope that comes from Spartans, the inspiration that they give off. This feel is something Halo has been missing for a while, and you brought it back. Thank you.

But I don’t get that: Spartan defending London? Thought there was only Chief on Earth. Or did I missed a book that was released lol

The game will be on Halo and not on earth, so even if the trailer is really cool, but it does not mean that we will have the same feelings while playing the game

I mean, I already got a similar vibe to the mission Halo from CE from the old campaign trailer, so I’m hopeful we will.

It was a cool trailer. But ever since 343 decided to canonize multiplayer, which is still a mistake, this trailer brings up a lot of questions. If it were just a cool trailer, sure, that’s that. But if it’s canon, how can there be those Brutes, 343 Phantoms, and Spartan IVs in Gen 3 Mk VII at the Battle for Earth? Like is this in 2552, or is it set later? Because if it’s her backstory and she’s a trainer in Infinite… it’s just messy.

It was cool to have perspective from a civilian during a Covenant invasion, I’ve always wanted to see that.

It’s probably set after 2552, I’m assuming those are Spartan 4’s. And sandbox always evolves in every game so I don’t think those details matter all that much. Look at Halo 3 ODST when compared to Halo 2.

it looked to me like a flashback, dunno man they do whatever they want

Good thing they brought back Joseph Staten. Halo 4 and 5 didn’t have that heroic/inspiring feel like these trailers do. I’m sure he was a big influence. A Bungie employee returned just like those Spartans did to save the day!

No where is it confirmed to take place in 2552. My guess is it takes place between 2558-2561.

there are comics where they were in australia, and i think somewhere in the US there were invasions as well during that time. So with that in mind it could be possible that they were in london as well.

That’s why it was a question, not a statement. And if it is set after, is that a Covenant faction or the Banished? Just a lot of questions.

It was good.

I don’t get all the hype around it though?
I’ve seen everyone say things like “fantastic” or “amazing” but I wouldn’t go that far, you know?

Again, it was definitely a good trailer and I’m definitely hyped for the f2p multiplayer, but this still hasn’t eased my concerns around campaign and how campaign still might launch unfinished and buggy.

Overall, 7 out of 10, in my honest opinion. I personally liked the “Step Inside” advertising they had last year a bit better.

A Spartan nodding at a civilian instead of immediately engaging the threat?

Taking your firing hand off of your weapon? Even fresh recruits know to do everything with your non-firing hand.

Yelling at a formation of eight marines? As an O-5 commander, she should be speaking to a formation of around 500. Demanding they chant “Yes, ma’am!” louder? Not a very inspirational leader.

It was a cool trailer for sure. But obviously it would’ve been something that was outsourced by 343 to a studio like Blur, ultimately having no real bearing on the game itself bar a few things like armour design and that female character.
