I applaud them if they really were the ones that posted that. It’s telling the crazies to shut it and let them make the game they want to make.
There are some gamers who fail to comprehend this. Devs make games they want to make. You as a gamer only have the privilege the devs grant you to play their game.
The image doesn’t bother me as much as it bothered me they focused on trying to make Halo 4 ‘easily accessible’ for new players.
Halo should always be a game made for the hardcore no exceptions. If it’s made for the hardcore then the casual fanbase will still be able to play it but they won’t have to choose to go into the hardore playlists and modes. They can like Halo 2 and 3 matchmaking offered all their casual social playlists.
Just like you can’t fix stupid you can’t fix a game that was build upon a casual foundation. It has to start out hardcore first.

Or, you could just not buy the game, and have them packing their bags as they file for bankruptcy.

That would be true for a brand new game, but this is Halo. A series that’s been fairly consistent gameplay wise for over a decade.
This franchise has an established fanbase that developers should cater to, and 343 failed to do that in my opinion.
They can’t just change everything because it’s the “game they want to make.” It doesn’t work like that.

if they make the game even less competitive in Halo 5, i will just go back to bungie and try Destiny

Its a super hero in a wheel chair. Its hard for me to make a opinion on this. I know they have good reasons for this but its not the way I wish to view John 117. I guess it makes me a little sad to see it.

I HIGHLY doubt that 343i would do that on purpose to directly offend the handicapped. They most likely thought it was a great analogy but were unaware of the backlash that would occur with such a post. I know I have made what others call insensitive posts without fully realizing it until someone pointed it out for me. I apologized and we all moved on with our lives, making sure it never happens again. Let 343i learn from their mistakes by informing them about what they did wrong but try doing it in a way that isn’t derogatory to the community or the game developers.

Wrong. Game development is a business. If they we’re an indie developer, than yes you’d be correct. But they are not. They are a tool used by Microsoft to create a product for a customer.
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Business 101. When you don’t listen to your customers, you lose them. That is factual information, not my opinion.

Yes they did something that is a little tasteless, but nothing can be done about, no one was hurt, and I’m sure they’ll say are deeply sorry and the didn’t mean to offend.
So just drop it, move on with your life and play some halo!

I didn’t. Remember, handicap settings have been in use for years and not just by our one format of video games. And those were to provide the same accessibility that 343 is trying to represent here. Should iconography respective to one particular and tragic group be used in a public slideshow to represent something other than them? I wouldn’t think so, but I’d be a -Yoink!- hypocrite if I was to start drawing the line at an image when I’ve been thoroughly complicit with the use of charged terminology (at least with respect to the last two decades) to describe exactly the same thing.
Inappropriate: Yes. Reason to crucify 343: No, even if bad social change isn’t affected (or at least maintained) by mob justice.
