Actually it is a complete assumption by me that its horrible but the friend that I am referring to is the autosentry. So I’ve never actually used it because it just looks like a pretty bad powerup. Disabling you momentarily when you deploy it and having -Yoink- firepower when it is deployed.
I just want to hear from some people who actually like this ability and why they like it. Would like some motivation to try new things.
I made a pretty epic flood variant with auto sentry. I like it in customs because you can control damage output.
For MM, never set it up in site of an enemy. Do it around a corner or as a watch over an area. It will help you win in a 1v1 as long as it is up before the fight happens.
Well, I only recently started using it, mainly in conjunction with my AR actually. That’s just the loadout I have it on shrug
Anyway I found that in Slayer it can be kind of useful since you have radar. You can usually tell where an enemy is so you know if you have time to deploy it or not. I mostly try to force them into a predictable path. What I usually do, is deploy it to force them behind cover, then either grenade to their flank or hop over the cover.
The sentry can hit them a couple times, making the kill easier. Sometimes the enemy gets distracted by the turret and so they don’t even realize they are getting shot to death.
I like using it in Campaign/Spartan Ops.
I think it takes too long to deploy. It’s not really suitable for fast paced gameplay IMO. It’s best to deploy it before a battle, not during battle.
Fortunately, it’s possible to get out of that stupid animation.
It’s possible on Forerunner and I’ve had it happen to me on Infinity today (I couldn’t find the video of it).
This could have strategic applications (it’s still balanced since you can’t throw grenades, shoot gun, etc. You can only move and sprint).
