That little ugly REQ system :-|

So we all know about REQ they suck and I am here to tell you people over at 343 so get ready to learn

  • The random ness of them are so bad that I bought a gold pack to get only warhogs not ONI or something with a strong gun Just plain scout hogs what is this and in a bronze pack I get a the helmet that have a shark teeth its broken - The type of packs are bad it just gold bronze and silver tere should be gunner packs armor packs warhog and other rides pack and a stance pack with there gold silver and bronze last is some times they break when you buy them so then you loss moneys you guys should do something before you loss more money From A person that wants halo to live

if you open them in the correct order, your gold packs will actually give you good items

This. In addition, Warzone Firefight is your best friend in nabbing those unlocks too. The accompanying commendation for the gamemode also rewards you with a whole bunch of Silver and Gold packs too.

Sounds like some one doesn’t know the silver to gold method… Open silvers till they refund two 1500 point req cards instead of unlocks and then open golds. Then you won’t get silver level unlocks in your gold packs. You can get some uncommon stuff in golds. Granted I agree is lame which is why I wish we had platinum packs back at least guaranteed rare or higher items.

OP has a point, most of the stuff from req packs is junk, especially at the beginning of the grind. But as long as people know there’s a chance to unlock something good, no matter how slight, they will still get that dopamine rush when opening a req pack. This is the exact same reason people gamble and buy lottery tickets even though they know the odds are strongly against them winning. Interesting, isn’t it?

The 343 assigned “rarity” of items and what packs they come from is far from the problem with the req system. Whatever rarity it has been assigned is extremely arbitrary in my opinion since they all come from req packs. My biggest problem is that it has almost made armors that you can actually earn extinct. There’s nothing special about any of the sets because they hold no meaning; whoever is wearing a “Legendary” set just got lucky.

Well, unfortunately, so long as some weapons/vehicles/etc. are better than others, req pack contents have to be completely randomized.

I do agree that there is a -Yoink- ton of junk in the REQ system.

However, the way you’re opening packs is wrong, and it’s a mistake I made up until SR 30 or so. What you need to be doing is burning all the REQ’s that are common to rare by grinding out silver packs. Once you stop getting stuff from the silver packs, then go to gold.

I like your idea of categorizing the contents. But its better if we can buy what we want using req points.

When it comes to weapons and vehicles, the grind is only frustrating at the lower levels.
It seems like the higher levels, people have more req points than they know what to do with.

While I don’t get as many Phaetons & Hannibals as I’d like, I have enough Scorpions, Wraiths, Ghosts, Warthogs & Mantis to last a lifetime and I’m only SR83.

I agree with this but they want money so the req system will probably stay for halo 6 :frowning: I would like reach system and to the OP like everyone else said above silver’ first then good I made the mistake and didn’t listen and am now 140 something and barely have any armor rip me lol

So people will just buy nothing but whiplashes, camos, nornfangs, prophet banes, and phaeton helios’s. Month of mythic was great, but I never want to see individual items for sale.

I agree. But all the cosmetic stuff and loadouts should be purchased by req points. And power cards by RNG. Sounds better?

One thing i like in reach is customization. It’s the best in all halo games.

I see folks wanting the Reach system implemented for unlocking armor.

I disagree and want the Halo 3 method for armor. Figuring out the mystery to unlock Hayabusa and the katana? Epic.

Seeing someone wearing Recon in a match? (Pre-vidmaster times) Holy crap they must have done something amazing to get that armor from Bungie!

I want the return of armors that actually mean something of significance than simply purchasing it with credit (Halo Reach) or having to hope I get a decent looking armor through RNGesus (Halo 5). Halo 5 almost had something like Halo 3 until they simply put all of them into the REQ system. There’s only a few armors that are exclusive to the REQ system, but they hardly mean anything significant…

I honestly think you don’t need to do “one way or the other.” There are enough types of armor now available that you can do both the Halo 3 achievement unlock version and the Halo Reach purchase with credits at specific ranks. There really doesn’t have to be an either/or situation here.

Hopefully we can get something more mysterious about it than “collect all skulls” and “unlock all the achievements”, which a bunch were an exercise in irritation, as far as my personal experience was concerned. It’s not too fun when you’re hoping to get a FFA game on a map with a Spartan Laser, and further hoping nobody else takes it, and even worse, hoping two people will line up in just a way that you can score a double kill. Perhaps i’m just not too lucky.

Nothing strikes me as significant about those except maybe that they’ve got patience and persistence, though Recon had significance based on having to have done something worthy in Bungie’s eyes to deserve it.

I honestly saw more signficance in Halo 3 armor than any other title since you actually had to earn them through certain means. Halo Reach was pretty much just showing howhmany credits one saved and Halo 5 is just a joke.

I guess to each their own, agree to disagree.

i got an idea. why not a variety of packs, for example: a oni pack (there only can get oni stuff, like oni scorpions and the armors of the team osiris) or a unsc pack (where can be unlocked the master chief armor and skins for the asault rifle). well… you know what i mean

So get ready to learn lol. Just unlock silvers first dude. Geez
