So ive heard a few different things about this achievement and was wondering if anyone could confirm it for me.
#1 Its been said that if trying for this achievement in co op mode neither person can die. If 1 dies the other wont get the achievement either. Is this true?
#2 It has also been said that you can skip large parts of the library level with grenade jumps. The only part i have seen to be able to skip is the very first small section. Is it true that large parts of the library can be skipped?
I haven’t watched through those videos but I know they will be abusing some grenade jumps, and if you are doing it on an easier difficulty, it will be easier to pull off.
Ha, I was trying to get this last night. I got to the last bit before retrieving the index, and some random combat-form shot me with a rocket launcher. I almost cried.
Can you revert to the last save before dying? Like say you lose your shields or fall down a hole, can you pause and revert and still get he achievement?

YES! I made it to the last floor without dying (miraculously) but as I got to the last door, I was ambushed from behind by a combat form with a shotgun. He got my shields down and I got desperate. I reverted to last save, anticipated that one combat form, grenade jumped through the partially opened door, went through the outer perimeter of the bridge leading to the index and completed the level. Just know that the achievement unlocks after the cutscene is over. =)
I think the players are allowed to die on co-op, and I’ll help you get the achievement (I’ve got it about 3 times from now helping other people) if you want.
I’m not sure what just happened to me. Haha. I put it on Co-op and played as the player I didn’t care about dying. My character didn’t die throughout the whole level except for once so I paused and Restarted Level. Once I did this I then went through the level as before without dying. I did not get the achievement. Maybe I should have backed out to the main menu and restarted. I don’t know.
Please, if you’re going to reference High Speed Halo’s content, please link to it on HSH itself: HERE, so that you can have the benefit of the run comments, and always have it in it’s complete and continuous form. It’s even on HSH’s official Youtube now so theres no excuses about your computer not playing nice with HSH’s in-built player.
For CEA specifically, I did an achievement run that cut out some of the harder tricks and have a commentary for it that might help.
Not sure on this one, I did this on co-op and let my second controller die a lot and my main one did not die, no achievement. Tried again solo and when I did die I hit save and quit and then resumed, still did not get the achievement.
The last thing I can think of is when I do die is just dash board. Playing this with the intent on not dying is not an option, they will load up infinite areas with the flood carrier forms who will kill you mysteriously.

You do know that there is certain areas of that level that have infinite flood spawning right? On top of that they love to spawn the flood infection types right on top of you.

What parts have infinite flood spawns? I’ve done a “slow n steady” run killing everything in my path and don’t remember a single part where there was infinite flood… That said, if you just want to survive and don’t care about time, go slow and use infinite grenades. You won’t have any trouble, really, just backtrack every time you trigger a spawn so they’re always in front of you.

Thanks for the heads up. I’d love to do Speed Reader and this one at the same time (because I simply can’t stand playing The Library more times than I should) so that trick should be useful there.
