I think it’s safe to say Flood was that itch.
There is no possibility a new game type featuring some new species would not have been revealed by now.
He was talking about Invasion.
And we have two similar modes now: Dominion and Extraction.

For some, personally I find Dominion to be a good start.
Personally, I’m going to mess around in customs and attempt to recreate Invasion using Dominion as a base gametype.
It barely scratches the itch for me, if at all.
I enjoyed the Tiered Gameplay, and I enjoyed the Two-Man Squad aspect.

Never did he say we would be able to play as a different species. He was referring to how Invasion’s itch would be scratched for that type of objective gameplay.
So unless you have a link to prove me otherwise, your argument is invalid.
they only said they would have something to scratch the firefight and invasion itches. and they were spartan ops and dominion(i think) respectively.
I thought it was for the Elites, but apparently it was for Invasion.
But IMO:
Flood is not a scratch for Elite players. While I’m super happy for Flood, Elite players are still upset.
As for Invasion, they must’ve meant Invasion Slayer, because I don’t see Invasion anywhere in Dominion. While I’m going to love Dominion, I feel that Invasion itch was not even scratched… at all.
And here’s what Frankie said about the itch was going to get scratched:

I think Extraction is the Invasion “replacement”, it looks much more similar.
But I’d still rather just have Invasion back.
