That First Tech Flight

But the fact still remains that 343’s Halo games have alienated their consumers and resulted in very low player counts, new or returning.

Halo fans wanted Halo and 343 decided to instead give us something wearing Halo’s skin for $60.

Thing is, what are we gonna’ do about it? Let’s say Microsoft folds 343i… Then what? They make another company? That’s handled the exact same way?

It literally cannot get better.

Sales do NOT equate to quality but by all means keep strawmanning. Halo 4 is NOT a bad game, it’s just this community is so neck deep up Bungies b-hole that they can’t accept even the slightest amount of change. Maybe take your Halo 3 nostalgia goggles off and actually try playing Halo 4 with an open mind.

Not true, Halo 4 and 5 still have an active playerbase to this day, the part of the games that died off quickly were ranked, everything else is still going fairly well. Infinite is the first mainline Halo title to have this severe of a drop off all around this shortly after launch because from a game design standpoint, Infinite IS a bad game.

Have you heard of something I like to call

STUDIO-117

Sequels are supposed to be a slight upgrade of the predecessor that came before it. Spinoffs are allowed to drastically alter themselves and only keep the core values of the main series intact.

Halo 4 is built like a spin-off

  • Art Style reimagined
  • Soundtrack and sound design doesn’t reflect the core series
  • PvE Gunplay is changed entirely
  • Heavy Ret-Cons were applied that contradict the main games
  • PvP now has loadouts instead of the standard gameplay rules

Halo 4 was an insult to the consumers because it was not built like a sequel, but it advertised itself as such.

In most cases it does, but this case is an exception to the norm.
Halo 4 sold well because Halo fans wanted to see the next chapter and to see what new maps and weapons the multiplayer had to offer… and then when we actually played the game; we saw hardly anything that the fans actually wanted.

Lets say you wanted to buy a really expensive car, a Lamborghini for example.
You order a Lamborghini Aventador directly from the company itself.
And for some reason, they instead give you a 2001 Daewoo Lanos.
And then when you call and complain about it, the Lamborghini company says
Why are you complaining? You ordered a car with a certain shade of green paint. Is that not what you got? Look-look-look, does it have four wheels and run smoothly? Yes? Then why are you complaining? Look friend… I can see you’re upset. How about we fix this… how does… a 2015 Ford Ka sound to you? … … … … Sir… there is no reason for that harsh language… you need to see anger management. No Refunds.

THAT is what happened with Halo 4.
Players of Halo want to play Halo. If we want to play Call of Duty, we buy CoD.
But 343 got it into their heads that LOADOUTS were needed in an ARENA shooter.
So we ended up getting Call of Halo 4: Alien Warfare.

The reason why sales were high in Halo 4 was because it said Halo, so people expected Halo. And we didn’t get Halo.
I wonder how many copies were returned to the stores once players played a few hours and realized that everything was wrong?

I did that when the game first came out.
Honestly, I am impressed with the graphical quality Halo 4 pulled off at the time.
The story of the main campaign was a solid 7/10 (though it gets docked extra points for the heavy retcons it introduced and the fact that Captain Del Rio exists only so you can have a “fight the man” attitude as a plot-point in the story to artificially add drama.)
Forge’s tools were interesting but the map selection was quite lack-luster.

But nostalgia glasses? You know the old sayings of “Don’t reinvent the wheel” and “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”? 343 ignored these phrases and because of their actions, and now they have caused a new quote to be made.

"You purposely broke something of ours, tried to fix it, and you ended up making it worse. We don’t owe you any favors so stop acting like you did a good job."

Phase One

Wait until 343 runs itself to the ground

Phase Two

(Sound Warning - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_7-u_Sunmg)
Schedule a meeting with myself, Bill Gates, Phil Spencer, Joseph Staten, and Satya Nadella. In this meeting, I will discuss every detail that 343 Industries had done to screw up development with each title they had which received harsh backlash from the fanbase. I will then present my solution : rebrand and restructure 343 Industries as a studio that is actually dedicated to making Halo games. Games made by Halo fans for Halo fans, proposing myself and Joseph Staten as the co-directors of the franchise.

Phase Three

STUDIO-117 (logo is literally "S-117") is finalized and will work on the following goals :

  1. DAMAGE CONTROL - Focus on fixing any remaining damages left upon Halo Infinite and continue updating H.I. with the help of Certain Affinity.

  2. RETCON THE RETCON - Restart the Reclaimer Saga by retconning Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians, and the majority of the novels that have come out since 2011. The Reclaimer Saga will then be made up of three games : Halo 4 (20xx), Halo: Spartan-Ops, and Halo 5. The games will then lead into Halo Wars 2 and Halo Infinite. New novels and comics will be written BUT they will be optional content like with the Bungie books, so the narratives can be followed by the more casual players. These would also be paid DLC campaigns for Halo Infinite, essentially turning Halo Infinite into MCC 2.0

  3. HALO 4 REWRITTEN - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cv84Wz0VFTJxay2N68Nc0Af1mh_LlZ9iyg55x0E0uoQ/edit?usp=sharing

  4. HALO SPARTAN-OPS REDEFINED - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zM1h68Br19M3L5ZeGC0a0ZcJWs0bi-QFOL3f45j-Fd4/edit?usp=sharing
    (WIP STILL)

  5. HALO 5 RESTORED - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SgMQ0hbk3BFofkeWSE7zv5TAJiz4phZfYQGuhP3DsCQ/edit?usp=sharing

  6. ANNIVERSARY TRILOGY - Working alongside Saber Interactive and Certain Affinity - Combat Evolved, 2, 3, and ODST will be remastered and added to Halo Infinite as DLC campaigns. Multiplayer maps will of course be added in for free without need of purchase.

Phase Four -

Sleep happy knowing that the nightmare is over.

(This is my master plan that has been in the making for about a decade.)

More content creates more possibilities for experiences and interactions. More content will bring more joy to a game.

This is completely insane. There’s nothing else to say.

Ya its crazy that it just might work lol

I agree 100% with this. Halo 4 & 5 343i had a vision and a plan and they followed through on them. Now they seem scared to death, with a rough idea of what they might do and no clue how they might get there.

Do you know… the definition… of Insanity?
Insanity is doing the same exact Yoinkadoinkin’ thing, over and over again, expecting Yoinkyonk to change.
~Quote from Vaas Montenegro

343 has done the same thing, in the regard of changing Halo to be something it is not, and they expected the change to result in praise. When it failed with Halo 4, they did it again with Halo 5 and expected praise for their unnecessary over-developing and changes.

Everywhere I go, I see nothing but spite and distrust and anger and frustration directed from the consumers who buy the product that is Halo.
Any sane company director or product designer would look to feedback on their work in order to make the necessary adjustments in order to ensure that the consumer is satisfied and profits are maximized.
But 343 Industries has on multiple occasions admitted to outright ignoring their consumers.
“They think they know what is best for them” is what 343 says.

We all know that whole spiel of “The Customer is Always Right” is a load of crap, but when the customer is asking for the bare minimum of effort put in a certain direction and the producer completely ignores them; it ruins the entire product.
You don’t approach an architect and give them an idea of what you want for a modern condo and then come back to see that instead of a Condominium you find your apartment has been redesigned to have the aesthetics of a Log Cabin.

Sanity
Stability
Serenity
That is what offer in contrast to this ignorance and sullying of the arts of design.

Couldn’t of said it better definitely feels like a log cabin

If what Halo fans have shown me is any indication, I’ll take 343i’s route ten more times than the fandom’s route once. I’m seeing Star Wars shudder and wither to the tune of “I know what that is!” right before my eyes, because Last Jedi was TOO daring for the schlock fed fanbase of Star Wars.

And I hate what’s happening to it.

Your plan will never work, Rambo. There is literally no way for you to reach out to these producers. The things they consider are… Frankly, leagues ahead of what we do. We just don’t think on the same scale. You genuinely can’t imagine what the board juggles.

The worst part is that it is driven by capitalism and games as a business, a product, not an experience or piece of art, or entertainment. You want to change things?

Start with the structures that demand the board of directors we universally hate, take a shot at Capitalism. Start with the foundation.

Ya last jedi wont lie that definitely felt gutted

Why can’t it be both?

If you make the product something to be highly desired, you gurantee that you will have a dedicated fanbase. Then when you have a dedicated fanbase, offer some items to be obtainable only through money currency; while the rest is obtainable through grinding in the game.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint did this beautifully.

90% of the cosmetics are available in-game through completing missions, exploration, or buying them from the Erewhon Shop with Skell Credits you found during your open-world excursions.

10% of the cosmetics are bought with actual real money, ranging from simple paintjobs and outfits to more iconic outfits form other Tom Clancy titles.

If Halo Infinite were to do the same, it would be a great start to how the consumer base would be less angry with the decisions of the company at large.
Master Chief’s Mark VI Gen-3 Armor Core? Locked behind a paywall in the IRL Money Shop.
The Mark IV Gen-1 Armor Core? Obtainable in game by means of a future battle-pass.
90% of the cosmetics for each armor core would be obtainable in the gameplay.
10% of the cosmetics will be locked behind paywalls.

The company gets its money.
The players stay playing because they actually can earn stuff through playing the game.

The problem with 343 Industries in the sense of being a capitalist industry is that they don’t THINK like a business.
A business would want to make sure that the consumer is satisfied so they keep coming to use your product and services.

Are we Satisfied?
The answer is currently “No.”

I didn’t watch The Last Jedi on the principle of the fact that the Sequel Trilogy writers kept changing seats between movies and ignoring what the previous writer would set up.
There was no investment in the story and it is all being made non-canon now.
So why bother?

Wouldn’t be more probable for Microsoft to partner 343 with another developer they own cause 343 been have a terrible staff problem another developer could help alot

That is what Certain Affinity is for.

Oh are they partnered with someone rn didnt know well dam lol
