Anyone else going to point out the fact that it’s clearly the Halo 3 version of Mark VI?
I’m pretty sure that’s the one thing ALL of us noticed. And I couldn’t be happier. I got over the way his helmet looked in h4 and h5 and was fine with it but for it to go back is amazing
It’s different from the Halo 3 iteration. It’s a lot closer to the H2/H3 design than 343’s previous versions (save for Halo 2 Anniversary), but there’s still elements from Chief’s custom design from H4/H5.
I think it’s little different but yeah that’s exactly what they were going for. I can already see the cutscene of how he got it.

I really hope they show how he got his classic armor back or at least acknowledge it in some way though.

I think it would be even more amazing if they could (not likely but nice to dream), update MCC and Halo 5 with new assets to have that as the armor the Chief wears and completely remove that retconned Mark VI we put up with for the last 2 games. His Halo 3 armor is so iconic in games and sci fi (they freaking made a wax statue of his Halo 3 MJOLNIR MK VI when Halo was at its zenith as a pop culture IP). Let’s hope this is a return to form and “Return of the King” for the Chief.

I mean like, people could easily mistake it for the Halo 2 version. It is pretty close to the Halo 3 version, if you look at the leg armor and his plating on his hands.
It looks more like a mix of old and new looking at the little we saw about it. Definitely looks better than the H4/H5g one so far though.
