Thanks MCC team

Forums shutting down tomorrow. Just wanted to say I really appreciate all the work that’s been done with the MCC. The collection at first pass seemed so impossible to accomplish, even after launch. Bug tracking and fixing seemed like a nightmare, and probably still is. Playing back to back matches of different games from different engines seemingly has never been done before. There is still a lot of bug fixing that the MCC needs, but overall I just wanted to share what I think makes the MCC an incredible collection of games.

  • “Mix-tape” matchmaking was such an incredible addition. Population issues aside it’s crazy that I can boot up different Halo entries across decades of Halo history seamlessly.
  • The additions of ODST and Reach added amazing value to the MCC. 343 knew how much more complex maintenance would become, but upped the ante anyways. The MCC is hands down the best deal in gaming.
  • Adding cut and brand new content to each title seemed unreasonable asks, but we’re delivered on.
  • Mod tools for every game in the collection is brilliant, adding unlimited replayability for PC players.

Big shout out to kornman, the psycho duck, dersky, saber interactive, Bungie, and every soul who’s ever touched the collection. I hope in the future the current team can continue to provide support via bug fixes and possibly new features. These forums were an amazing place to share player experiences to improve the overall quality of the MCC and it’s criminal to see them fade to the ether.

So long and farewell, may our paths cross again.

Big shout out to whoever made the decision to add Reach to the collection. I love you.

Meanwhile, these forums have mostly done nothing but demand more things from this small team.

I will forever be grateful to the mcc team for porting the whole collection to pc. I always wanted to play other halos on pc too but couldn’t. They ported these games to pc and breathed a new life into the games by bring exciting new things to them.
I would presume that stuff like the flood firefight was a pipe dream at one point but you guys made it possible.
Thank you mcc team for all the great work.

I just hope to see more OG H2 maps remastered to H2A… But not holding my breath by any means.
