As much as it may not be noticeable to a “casual” player. Lag is definitely a problem with Halo 5. Kills lag behind (kill register lags) ans also lots of kill trades aswell. Its just annoying. No internet is NOT an issue, ALL of my friends have this/these issues. Will there be a fix and if so when?
I’m in Australia and the only time I’ve lagged is when my -Yoink!- sister uses the bloody Internet.
“Matchmaking is still handled in the traditional peer-to-peer way – whether in 4v4 Arena modes or 12v12 Warzone – but once there’s enough players, it transitions the match to a dedicated server.”
I knew someone would say there is no lag… The game is designed to create that illusion. it is still there

The game cant just “transition”. Servers dont work like that. You would need a host migration which the game does not have. I mean unless i have missed something and they developed something awesome?

“It creates the illusion of no lag?”
ive got to hear this. Please explain how this game hides something like ****ING LAG!
and I didn’t say there was none, I just said it was mostly lagging because of my end when someone else was on the Internet.

CoD has been doing this for a long time… Have you ever played csgo? Well when you lag on that you cant even move. Games like Halo and CoD have a system to give the lagging players a boost. They create the illusion that you are running smooth. Either way the kill trading and the kill register is un acceptable. Bf4 had a better launch with there net code…
Also shooting through walls seems to be a thing…
Australia always has lag. It sucks that our internet is so bad because we know we are paying MORE money for a worse experience, and their is nothing we can do about it.
Must be your connection, haven’t lagged once.
I hope it doesn’t lag completely out for me

I don’t know what lag you experience but when I lag in halo 5, i am:
-constantly teleporting backwards, limiting my movement and making where I go practicly impossible to go.
-grenades not being thrown until 4 seconds after I pressed the button.
-Delay in picking up weapons, equipment etc.
-shots on enemy not registrating on them until 2 seconds later while all there shots hit me perfectly at perfect timing.
-cool down timers glitch ing.
that in no way gives me the illusion of running smooth mate.
well the one i get is
-shots on enemy not registrating on them until 2 seconds later while all there shots hit me perfectly at perfect timing.
except its more like 1/2 a second
Also again. it isnt my connection. I would expect everyone to understand what i mean. After all i have been playing CS go for a while now

Well, going back to my original point, the only time I’ve ever lagged has been from my end.

I can almost guarentee that you would have the issue im having. Ive found out its not just me and my australian friends but also international. For some the thing i am complaining about. But for people like me who want the best competitive game possible, its noticeable.
Have you ever got a kill trade in this game before?
Lag is definitely a problem I’ve had, but the bullet magnetism is also there and in swat and breakout it becomes very noticeable when I should have died, and when the bullets are bending around a corner.
rubber banding as well is a problem

Pretty sure they mean before the game starts if the system can gather enough players from our region for a full lobby it will start on a dedicated server.

That would make sense
