Thanks for saving me the trouble of getting SR152

I’m SR151 with 8.7million XP to go after 2 days in arena and 58 days of warzone. After seeing the abomination and doing the maths of what the Halo infinite storyline will be; I won’t even bother with SR152 for the Halo infinite reward, can’t be any good if the game is bad and if it looks like I won’t be getting it.

343 take another year for this coronavirus and rewrite the whole storyline because abandoned plot lines, plot holes, time skips, will kill campaigns.
I will still try for SR152 but that will be for the glory of Halo 5, not Halo Infinite.

The demo shown today take place hours into the campaign. I also hope that they haven’t abondoned plot lines. You can’t make this judgment from what has been seen so far.

good for you, your mental health will improve in the next days, i got such rank after hours and hours of grinding annihilating my social life and drawing practices in the process and ,like you said, after the … stuff we got is not worth it

OP I think you’re making a lot of assumptions about the story when we haven’t even seen much of it at all.

The demo is placed many hours into the Campaign as stated in the latest blog post on waypoint. There’s a lot we haven’t even been told about story yet. The game will continue the story of Halo 5 and will also serve as a jumping on point for new players too.

Information is only just beginning to come out about the game, can’t jump straight to conclusions when we don’t know enough yet.

Actually I can make that judgment, here.

At least Halo 5 was still considered Halo. I would say Halo Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike are more Halo than this abomination.

They show us the demo just because they want to make our judgement to buy the game more compelling so the logic behind everybody saying “you can’t judge this game from one demo” have faults. I personally will of course still watch the new trailers coming out and such but with MY judgement of the demo I won’t buy this Halo game.

Your reply makes no sense. All you did was state a bunch story things that were absent from the gameplay demo. Their absence does not mean that those elements are not in the campaign.

This is as ridiculous as the person in the other thread complaining that there is no carbine, sniper rifle, etc etc simply because they were not present in the demo. The demo is not a catalog of every element of the game.

343 has not given a full description of the story or gameplay. They haven’t stated everything that is definitely in or not in the game. The absence of any element from the short demo does not mean it’s not in the game.

It’s like if I showed I wanted to show you the artwork on the front and back of the King of Diamonds from a deck of cards, and your reply is, “This deck sucks! There’s only one suit? And there’s no ace! There’s no 10! There’s no 5! There’s no jack!”

I wonder if I played peek-a-boo with you, if you think the whole world disappears when your eyes are covered.

You can of course make personal judgements about the general nature of the game based on the demo. However, the OP is complaining about highly specific things “missing” from the demo as if it’s confirmed that they don’t exist. That doesn’t make any sense

OP players complaining about things missing from the demo is ridiculous and some OP players still complaining about sprint should be banned from the community forums. I just wanted to share my opinion about the argument that I can’t complain about the game looking bad from what I do see just because it’s a demo.

You can make that judgement with all the snarky inelegance that you can manage, but as is likely with most things you say, you are sorely misinformed. Explains the arrogance.

And how’s that, the 2 bolded points are true statements, everything seems to be pointing to my concerns in the storyline of the game. Halo 5 set the table of where the factions stood in the Orion arm of the Milky Way. Everything we saw and heard from that demo tells us none of it mattered.

How are you going to say you won’t be getting it and then end your post saying you probably will?

How did the UNSC lose to the Banished? Well we don’t know but I am willing to be it has to do with the fact that the created messed up pretty much every major world of the UNSC. Seems logical to me that they are allied with the Banished.

You’ve seen 9 mins of gameplay that showed no story and are making huge judgments about it. I’d wait until we hear more.

Hold your horses there Cowboy, 8 minutes of part of the Campaign that definitely wasn’t even a significant section of the story (besides one cutscene). Just relax man, and just a reminder, most of the Covenant you know were being assimilated into Cortana’s faction with the Prometheans. We really don’t know if they are somewhere along the story, to early to call, but seeing how HW2 ended with a Guardian, we should be seeing some of them. If not, then yeah I’d like an explanation of what happened

As nice as it would be to completely ignore the mess that is Halo 5’s story, there’s literally nothing to indicate that all that was just suddenly thrown away. They’ve stated repeatedly this will be picking up from 5’s story. We are going to get a continuation of the Cortana/Created/Forerunner arc. Hopefully we’re getting a conclusion to it and we can focus exclusively on the Banished as the new Covenant for the series moving forward.

We don’t know how the unsc got it’s but kicked so bad, maybe that’s where the guardians come in. Also who’s to say that atriox didn’t make and even bigger and badder army with his words and actions. And those actions could of been wrecking the best of the unsc, only to be killed in the process.

We know so little, and it’s really silly to assume so much. But I get it, your passionate about halo, nothing wrong with that. And I too would hate to have a crappy campaign. I hope it’s good.

Seriously? We’ve seen 8 minutes and barely got an introduction to the villain, seems like you were just waiting to freak out about something no matter what it was going to be about. No one cares about the created, no one cares about the prometheans and no one cares about Cortana--Yoink!-, they were dumb and uninspired and I hope they take a back seat for a minute so 343 can attempt to fix the terrible deign of prometheans (gameplay and aesthetic) and slowly build Cortana up into an enjoyable villain which would have taken way more than one game to fix. Infinite is supposed to have story expansions like Halo 3 was supposed to with ODST so maybe they’ll start bringing the created in as the banished get beaten back.

I love how much the Halo community has regressed, we give the Destiny community a run for it’s money in terms of backtracking. First we all hate the created/prometheans and now we all love them so very much that we think about skipping the game because they don’t have a major presence and are replaced by a faction that the community universally loves. I’m just gonna sit back and watch as the community incessantly complains about the game then picks it up anyway so they can cry about it like they always have. I didn’t like 4’s gameplay or 5’s story and gameplay but I didn’t sit around and cry about it, I moved on to other games and perhaps a few of you should too rather then waste your time on a forum crying about a topic as dumb as this.

Let me stop you there, first off Halo 3 ODST is set during the events of Halo 2 right after the level metropolis, and the only thing it was for Halo 3 was the map packs.

People cared about the Forerunner Warrior servants the Prometheans, as they had a good story, gameplay and design. The only legitimate blemish was in halo 5 when crawlers no longer crawled on walls or ceilings. The expanded universe was good especially the parts about how they fought the flood and composed to have Promethean Knights.

You can reveal enough of your product to entice people to buy it, without revealing the actual nitty gritty aspects of said product. If your revealing a story, you are not going to reveal that entire story, all at once, so you the observer can’t make the assumption that what was shown to you, was the entire picture, until you are given a more clearer one 343 is not just going to show those points as they may be intertwined with other elements that could spoil the story or other elements of the game. So what they shown, was meant to be a introduction into Halo Infinite, not a means to reveal to you the entirety of the story.

Im not asking for a reveal of the entire story though i didn’t like the gameplay and the graphics of the game that should have been more polished in my opinion. The halo reach assualt Rifle for Xbox 360 was better looking than halo infinite in next gen console

I watched the demo again and I am putting focus on the ending for my opening post. That brute clearly says they bet the UNSC easily and many months ago (167 days ago). It also shows many units from the UNSC Infinity are ‘deceased’. The story is gonna be super crap, it’ll make Halo 5 look perfect.

This does not make as:

  1. The Banished don’t have that great of a navy and rely on avoiding conflict with the UNSC, Rebel alliance, Covenant Storm, Swords of Sanghelios and Prometheans so they can farm resources.
  2. The lesser Ark contains their primary force which only had 1 Star ship which was a CAS 5.7km ship which is vastly inferior UNSC Spirit of Fire and crew to take down. I can’t imagine secondary forces of the Banished would have a much bigger fleet than that.
  3. The human- Covenant war took the best part of 27 years which both factions lost a huge amount of ships, but Covenant won though better technology. Humans had hundreds of planets with ship building yards and Orbital Defence platforms to draw from while Covenant had their own planets with ship building yards, High Charity, CSO 29km ships as well as CAS 5.7km ships while Banished don’t have anywhere near all that.
  4. UNSC won the war and by the start of Halo 4 came out as the dominant force in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way with many advancement in navy technology such that they have UNSC Infinity class ships. Banished could not have beaten them.
  5. The Lesser Ark exists outside of Milky Way 10’s of thousands of light years away and it is said it would take 7 months of slip space to get there, but 1 month through the portal on Earth.
  6. The Prometheans and created ain’t gonna let all this happen as they want to police the galaxy and not have a faction wiped out.
  7. Banished and Prometheans are confirmed enemies in Halo Wars 2, and not allies. Mendicant Bias shut down the portal from Earth to the lesser Ark to deny the Promtheans from getting there and controlling it and in doing so protected the Banished and Spirit of Fire forces there.
