Only in the sense that it’s an ‘every man for himself’ gametype, and that’s it.
Regicide is to FFA Slayer, as Grifball is to Assault.
At the very basic level, the toys are the same, there are just different rules you need to play by to win.
It holds my attention for a while. It’s fun. Not my favorite gametype especially with that lag last night. But its entertaining.

If you are the King, you are supposed to avoid being killed and try to stay ahead of everyone else in kills.
If someone manages to kill you, they get a bonus from killing you. That bonus can let them win even if you have more kills.
Moral of the story, if you’re the King, you better be damn good.

Some players are much better than everyone else in the match and are King the entire match. It’s pretty hard to kill the King when the spend the entire match as such.

Then if the person that is King is better than everyone else, they deserve to win. That is kind of the point of the game. The best player wins.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that situation or scenario at all.

theres only so much damage you can take though. always get at least a double or 3 assists before im one shot and they regicide me.

I won my first regicide yesterday, being king just for the last 2 kills. It´s important to say that I kept pace on the king´s score, so it was no abnormal comeback or anything… the fun of it is really the bonus on killing the king.

That isn’t the games fault. You’re the King and everyone knows where you are, those are the rules. It’s almost no different than being jumped by multiple people back in Lone Wolves or Rumble Pit in Halo 3.

Except for the fact that in Lone Wolves you never had a waypoint over your head 24/7. In Regicide, you do. It makes a huge difference.
In Lone Wolves, ganging up on people just happened. Regicide sets it up.

agreed the king has an advantage everyone knowing where you are is an advantage if you play it right and have the right tools you can use it to your advantage you know their coming for you so plan ahead and youll win
I don’t understand how people can’t grasp how to play Regicide.
Lurk in second place, start slaughtering the king late-game to push ahead and win. That way you can still rack up king kills, contend for the lead, and not have a giant “murder me” sign above your head.
I do not get why it’s so hard for people to understand Regicide.
Regicide introduced a new concept: Quality of kills matters more than quantity of kills. You win when you get 300 points. Not when you reach 30 kills.
I was introduced to this forever thanks to Assassin’s Creed’s Multiplayer.
