Everytime I saw someone wearing Helioskrill, I thought “Another person who spent forever beating campaigns on Legendary, respect”. Now, all I can think is “I wonder how many REQ packs he bought…”

You could get helioskrill in a req pack without doing the campaigns anyway so i don’t get why people are conplaining

Yeah, it’s pretty unfortunate, isn’t it? I can’t say I understand their motives for this… The general consensus among the community seems to be that it’s the wrong decision. I set up a poll earlier explaining that I think 343 themselves should set up polls and discuss ideas like this with the community BEFORE they do it, to see how the community feels about it. I think that would be more beneficial to everyone as opposed to just making decisions like this and hoping everyone is happy with it.

No, you shouldn’t…
There is no rare armour. Sure there is armour that says “rare” at the bottom of the REQ card, but everyone has just as much chance to get it as the next person. Achilles and Helioskril are the ONLY armour sets that when you see them you either 1) expect to get ruined because if they’re wielding Achilles right now odds are they’re with a full team and they’re good or 2) silently commend the person for their hard work and dedication because they’re wielding Helioskril, and you know they’ve put some hours into this game. Anything other than that and you’re simply as common as the next man. Most of the legendary armour even has an actual “common” variant with a few less paint stripes. There is no value in “legendary” armour in this game.

Yeah, I miss when armor actually had meaning behind it. Back in Halo 3, all armor had some type of requirement you needed to complete before earning it. As for recon… being as it’s 5+ years later, I don’t mind that they gave it to everyone. It was Bungie’s thank you to the community.
To be honest, beating all four campaigns on legendary isn’t all that bad. It can be done in less than a week.
I was surprised by all the people clamoring for it. Beating Halo on legendary is something I thought the majority of the Halo community had already done by now.

That’s funny, all I can think of when someone is wearing Helioskrill is that they’re a complete tool. Seriously, helmet looks awful. You look like an Asari from Mass Effect (not a bad thing, just has no place here in Halo).

Another one of these topics? Wow, people need to grow up. No one cares if you have Helioskrill, no offence. I don’t look at a guy and think he’s awesome because he has a set of armor. He complete 4 campaigns on Legendary, cool, I’ve done it, just not 1-4.
Besides, people act like a level 1 can open a gold pack and get mythics and legendary cards right off the bat. I’m just about to finish Ultra-rare’s, with 10 days playtime. Don’t I deserve Helioskrill? Infact, it’s not even the same one, people still know the original is from the campaign completions.

Come on, exclusive and special unlocks used to be very important in the halo universe. Look at recon, or the sword on your back, or eod, and thats just 3. Reach had all sort of unlocks people would dawn just to show how much they played.

Ermm, you’re wrong, you could never get Helioskrill, Nighfall or the Mark VI Gen1’s from req packs. They are only available from doing certian things and thats it, the fact we now have these is a massive kick in the balls to the people (like myself) who spent crap tons of time doing all them campaigns on MCC on legendary.

Obviously people do care or we wouldn’t be having this conversation. If you go look at polls related to this topic it actually appears ALOT of the community does not agree with this.

No i’m not, 343 said that everything in the game could be obtained by REQ packs, EVERYTHING, this includes Helioskrill.

Oh well I was wondering how I had Helioskrill, didn’t realize it was that big a deal to beat campaigns. I can understand if you don’t like the stories, but then I guess it makes sense to buy the armor if you like the armor and not campaign.
I never bat an eyelash when I see helioskrill. You would have to tell me you beat it solo for me to be impressed, in which case you could wear any armor and tell me that.

From a business standpoint, this is dumb.
Time is money. As a company, 343 needs to keep things rolling. For the couple people that linger on this forum complaining everyday, there are thousands and thousands of other people buying and playing the game.
The forum is the minority.
