Thankful Forger

Reach: saved over 500 maps, forged dozens

Halo 4: saved under 50, forged a single octagon…

I stop forging with all the lack a precision tool, rotation glitches, camera glitches and other disheartening things really just stopped me in my tracks in terms of forging.

But then 343 decided to open up the Forge Test Playlist. And I was still grumpy over the disappointments. But the playlist really got my friends excited again. Seeing that forge maps are still a place they can pour their creativity into, they got back to work and started forging again.

The forges I have been invited to lately have been more seriously, creatively, competitively been ramped up. More and more I am hearing “look at this map I made” or “hey, help me with this map I made.”

This is more of the forge experience I expected when I got the game. Much closer, and compared to how I felt before… This forger is very thankful. So thank you 343 for deciding to add a playlist that brought back a lot of positivity. I expect this trend of positivity, creativity and all around Halo love will grow exponentially when file shares are fully functional. Really excited to think of all the sharing and cooperating that goes on so we can find a fun place to kill eachother.

I was also very excited for the Forge MM playlist. It actually MADE me go back to H4orgeless.

THEN I went back into H4 and thought Oh Yeah thats why I quit making maps!

Whoever came up with the idea of an unfocused Initial Loadout Camera should be kick right straight in -Yoink-.

Part of the coolness about that opening camera view is SEEING the Freakin Map you -Yoink!-!

Uhggg… now only if the dynamic lighting didnt stop working in Theater mode.

This map looks much better in the actually game but here is a test match. (learning to design maps with infinity slayer in mind hurts my head)
