Frankie always saves the day… I didn’t know mlg was having problems getting the anniversary maps into events…

Its because they had this main problem.
Idk what they are doing to fix the issue, but they’re doing it.
I stopped at …
"No matter how good or bad Halo 4 is continue to treat 343i with respect and do not treat them like Bungie. "
One man did not give the world Halo. A whole company did. Even then, if one man were to be given credit for the creation of Halo, it’d be Jason Jones, not Frankie.
But please, let’s turn our back on that company because they released one game people didn’t overwhelmingly enjoy. Sure, sound logic. (I’m not a supporter or hater of MLG, you guys do your own thing, but a post like that, paints you guys having more mood swings then a 14 year old with a thyroid problem hitting puberty.)
I don’t understand what Frankie has done to help them out, can someone explain to me fully what was stopping them and what was done to let it continue.

Basically MLG couldn’t use Anniversary maps because they would have to buy about 300 discs of Anniversary maps. Then they would also have to put the code in about 300 xbox’s, and if they wanted to switch discs (they were willing to) the game history is gone.
That is what MLG uses for gametypes, the history. But in Anniversary it gets deleted, so they would also have to make mlg gametypes for every xbox if they were going to use Anniversary maps. Somehow Frankie did something to let MLG use anniversary maps, I’m guessing he gave them a bunch of free codes. Though I honestly don’t know
And this is why Frankie and 343 deserve so much respect. Always there to help the community.

So … they are being this thankful to Frankie because they don’t have to input a ton of codes, since 343i and Microsoft gave them a ton of codes to input?
Perfect sense.

And they gave us ZB (MLG in general was asking for this since day one) and more then 1 gametype. More stuff I’m probably forgetting.
Edit: I said I didn’t know, it was a complete guess. I might be completely wrong
Much love to Frankie. <3

What that poster was saying, is to not let the same thing that happened between the Bungie community and the MLG community happen again. If MLG is brought up on Bungie’s forums, it’s an automatic flame-war. If Bungie is brought up on MLG’s forums, same deal. The poster wants to avoid that by saying MLG’s community should continue to be respectful of 343i regardless if they think Halo 4 is good or bad. 343i has done nothing but support the MLG community in big ways and the MLG community is very, very grateful for that.
Also for people wondering why MLG couldn’t use DLC maps. MLG had the same issue in Halo 3. They could only use the maps that came on the disk. Bungie was gracious enough to give them free codes to install Foundry on hundreds of Xboxes, and thus forge maps like Onslaught and Amplified were used. Then ODST came out which included a multiplayer disk with all of the default, and DLC maps on it. Because of this, MLG was able to just use this disk to use other DLC maps like Heretic (Midship).
The overall problem with DLC for MLG’s use is this. MLG has hundreds of Xboxes. In order to use DLC in their circuit, they would have to spend days connecting every xbox to the internet, create thousands of accounts (atleast 2 per xbox) individually buy DLC for each account and then download them to each account. This would take days upon days to do and would cost thousands of dollars.
For them to just use Halo: Reach’s and CEA’s disks presents 3 problems. The first is time management. Tournaments are extremely time compressed. While switching disks between games takes mere minutes, hundreds of people having to do this all day long adds up. There simply isn’t enough time allotted for players having to switch disks, create the gametypes, join lobbies and then finally start playing. The second problem is the fact that some people have sticky fingers. This means there isn’t a way to insure that someone won’t walk off with a disk, screwing everyone else over and then causing even more of a time delay. The last problem is for VODs. Each time players would have to switch disks, the temporary files from previous games are cleared. This means that the video from individual players (usually pros) MLG posts on their website after tournaments will be lost.
Hope that answers some questions and always a big thank you to 343i and MLG for their hard work!
Edit: What Frankie and 343i did was they gave MLG codes to install the CEA maps directly onto the Xboxes. This saves them from having to connect hundreds of Xboxes to the internet, create thousands of accounts, and individually download the maps to each account. That is my understanding of it.
