I never saw this one coming, and I can’t express just how excited I am the flood are returning to Halo Wars. This is a HUGE development feat given that it takes new character models, etc. That shows a lot of time and effort was put into this to bring it to the players. I wanted to say thanks to 343 for doing it.
Also, I think this is the best way to do it. By having them not a faction, it doesn’t make balancing the game even harder than it already was, which was a huge concern for me. I give this my 100% approval and happiness rating.

I have to say, I’ve never had a Season Pass be worth the price, let alone go this far. Now my only wish for the Halo Universe is a game centered around or features space battles. Kind of like Star Wars: Empire at War.

Couldn’t agree more we’re getting more than offered and halo wars 3 space battles??
I think it’s great that they’re added and I’ll certainly play lots of it, but I’m not very impressed by the look of the Flood, I know looks aren’t everything but they don’t look like Flood to me.
The idea of a firefight holding out against them sounds great though, hopefully it can be played with friends.

i bought the season pass hoping to get that campaign dlc they announced when it launched.

I don’t agree this is the best way to do it. They know that a flood faction has been requested millions of times since the first game.
I’m not into conspiracy theories, but my guess is that Microsoft might have some saying into what gets put into the game and what not in terms of man power/development time, so I can’t blame 343/CA for this.
Not sure if this will be missions or firefight, either way I’m heavily disappointed.
- If it’s missions we won’t be fighting UNSC. So we’re getting the same treatment as H2, we can’t have a convincing narrative where the humans are always the good guy and are untouchable.
- If it’s firefight I will never play it.
Call me an -Yoink- if you want, but I still supported the game buying the limited edition and will continue to support the game.

Playable flood would be nearly impossible to balance. I’m happy it is the way it is. Be happy with what we got, we’re lucky to be getting it at all.
I am thrilled about this expansion so much so I have no words haha!
I too think this is the best way to incorporate the flood. I know people want to play them but frankly they would have to almost rebalance the game from scratch if they incorporated the flood as third faction because of they did they would have to make the play style completely unique so it felt like the flood of that makes sense.
Couple that with the fact that balancing an RTS with two already multi dimensional races (because of lesders) by bringing in a third race would be extremely tough and I am not so sure it would be on the best interest for this RTS
