Thank You Amazon....

I was so excited to get out of school early today to play Combat Evolved Anniversary, which I was sure would be here by the time of my return. I mean, Gears of War 3 got here on release day at 11 AM with release date shipping, as did a few other games I’ve ordered via Amazon. Anyways, I got home and my game wasn’t here is the bottom line here. It’s 3 PM and not here yet. I checked the tracking status, and the game is in Whitestown, IN right now. I live in MN. My game has been in Whitestown since yesterday night. I don’t know why it hasn’t left there yet.

Anyways, I normally wouldn’t mind this lateness. The thing is, I’m in a musical production, and our opening night is on Friday. That said, I have insane practice times this week and I won’t get to play Anniversary until, at earliest, next Monday. Today was my one good bet. That’s why I was excited to have a field day at the University today: it meant returning early and actually getting to play Anniversary a bit. So I’m super bummed. I likely won’t be playing for any extended period of time until Thanksgiving now.

Sorry to express all of this to you. I’m just frustrated that I can’t play a game I specifically ordered release date delivery for on its release date because the game isn’t arriving. All of this said, does anybody know any way to get something from Amazon failing its promised delivery time? I know they only charge $0.99 for release date delivery for some games (Anniversary being one of those), but the thing is, I would gladly have paid $30 for this on its release day. It’s a principle thing, I guess. Any solutions from anyone?

Thanks for reading. Sorry for complaining.

It will be alright, dude.

That sucks. We’re kind of on the same boat here. I can’t play it until Friday because that’s when my new Xbox arrives. I’m just counting down the days to Friday at this point, and it sucks cause I should be playing RIGHT NOW.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

And I have to wait for my 16th birthday on December 9th since I have no money aggh!!! oh and a little 11 year old german kid (recently moved to Germany) at my school thinks Reach is the best game ever and has never played CE and he already has this AGGGGH!!! >.<

5:20 PM here and still no package. So much for release date delivery. Last time I go to Amazon if I want to reliably have a game on its release date. Shame, too. I spent all last weekend doing all of my homework for the week just so I’d have some time to play today. Again, thank you Amazon… 10 years of Halo for me and you let me down ):

Chill out dude haha.
UPS delivers until 8pm. I usually dont get release date packages till 6pm.
its 5:22 for me atm. Be patient.

I don’t get mine until Thursday. It sucks. I feel ya.

It’s been different for me, that’s the thing. I’ve always gotten packages from UPS between 10AM-12PM. It’s always been early for me. I also can’t really afford patience. I don’t get to play Anniversary now until probably next week. I have a busy few days ahead of me with my musical production’s opening night coming up quickly. Heck, I’ve got to go to practice in about 15 minutes. That goes until 11 PM for me, each and every night. And really, I wouldn’t have gotten release date delivery if I knew it meant 8 PM on release date, to be honest… Even if I wasn’t pressed for time.

i got mw3 and skyrim at 2pm form amazon.
The delivery times aren’t very consistent.
Nothing you can do though, at least you got $10 credit.

I think it’s regional. I live in a rural area. The boonies, basically. The population density here isn’t very thick, so our UPS delivery is usually very consistently early. I can’t think of an exception to that. But you’re right; there’s nothing I can do but gnash my teeth that I’m gonna miss out on launch week for this game now. But that’s also kind of the point of the thread: I’m frustrated about it.

I feel you, buddy. Today was the best day for me to play, especially because I wanted to play it exactly 10 years after Halo CE came out. But, now Im bummed. I was so upset when I went to get the mail, to find only bills and magazines. I checked the tracker, and saw that it arrived in Rochester (NY) today. I live not even an hour away, and it didn’t come! Seriously? Some people get it a week early, and others get it after the release date!? Oh well… its really dissapointing.

So now I’d say it’s safe to say it’s not coming today (it’s 11 PM). Does anybody have any experience in contacting Amazon about this? I didn’t get my package when I ordered for it to come, and despite the reduced-from-normal release date delivery cost, that’s still the bottom line; it didn’t come today.

It could be worse. You could be like me and use free super saver shipping and potentially not get it till next week. Still gotta love the $10 credit though.

Man, you should’ve upgraded to release date shipping. On Amazon, they had it for only $0.99 for Anniversary. That’s part of why it feels wrong for me to complain. It was cheap. That said, I also would have gotten it if it was expensive. Still…

I pre ordered it months ago and I don’t think it was an option then as I don’t remember seeing it. Also if you paid for what is advertised as release day delivery, it’s unnaceptable that it didn’t arrive.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon on the day the game was announced (June 6). It’s still listed as “Halo Spark” in my order history, which is pretty cool. But yeah, it was available back then. It wasn’t widely advertised, and the only reason I know about it is because I was willing to shell out the extra cash for release date shipping anyways, and imagine my delight when it was only $0.99!

Also, I got in contact with Amazon support… They’ve got no good explanation for me. I asked for a refund because the item didn’t arrive as promised, and they told me that if the package doesn’t arrive by the 17th, then I can get a refund… I wanted to shout at that guy.

That’s so much bs

Feel bad for you bro. It happens sometimes, it just so happens that it had to happen to one of the cooler games.

I pre-ordered through amazon as well, and didn’t receive my copy. Thankfully my brother who also pre-ordered through amazon got his. He let me use his map code and when mine finally arrives, I will let him use mine. This is the first time I’ve ever had a problem with release date delivery.

I made it release date postage and I got mine yesteday. Thanks, Amazon UK.
