There is a problem with the “X” marker, it disappears way too fast. Its there for about half a second and then its gone before you ever could get the chance to say “Rockets on my X” maybe increasing the time its there by 2 seconds would suffice. Anyone else notice this?
Another issue is since the “X” is white it gets lost in the background of the map too much, if it was changed to a different color that might help.
It could last a little longer. I think it stays until the player respawns so it’s only an issue with instant respawn gametypes. The white is fine from the one game on Haven I played. I can see it perfectly fine and Haven seemed like the map people thought it would be the worst. The death marker is the one feature from Reach I liked. It was a white X as well but there was a small arrow and your call tag that would turn orange under fire and red when you died. In the end I’ve played Halo 4 for 5 months without it. It’s a nice subtle addition added back in that doesn’t make or break anything IMO.
It disappears as soon as the other player presses X so I see it as balanced. It’s not fair that the player dead can just spawn while still having his X out on the HUD

But is that because of instant respawn? The player presses X the second he dies making the X disappear instantly.
The colours for oddball are also annoying. When your teammate has the ball, it appears red and when the enemy has the ball, it’s blue. It’s way too annoying. I haven’t played online for a few months, maybe it’s different.

Were you blue team? I think it changes to the color of what team you’re on. I could be extremely wrong. I play very little objective and haven’t payed enough attention.

No as it’s the same on gametypes without instant respawn.
