…and dedication to your fans!
This is my first post, so pardon me if I make any forum posting mistakes.
I really appreciate how much 343i cares about their fans, and fans of Halo. They were given a huge task of making a revolutionized Halo, while still satisfying the desires of older players who want an authentic Halo. I think, so far, they’re doing a truly amazing job!
If the people who are complaining about every little thing about this upcoming game-- that they haven’t even played yet-- would look past how selfish they are, they’ll see that Halo isn’t ruined. I mean, are they serious? How can a game be ruined just because awesome new features are added? Calm down.
If you take a second to think about what 343i has really done to matchmaking, you’ll see that what they’ve made it an amazingly -Yoink!- game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Yes, there are some relatively OP functions in the game --PV, and whatever else-- but they can easily be countered by many things. Just because you can see through walls doesn’t mean your shot is better than the player you’re going against; who’s to say the other player doesn’t have PV too? (to prove my point, go back and look at the MLG gameplay vids from E3; most of the pros were using PV, but the games still ended around 550-600 (Link for the lazy.)
And speaking of PV, 343i has nerfed it. Twice. They are really trying hard to listen to the community’s demands and adjust their game accordingly. The problem is, most of the posts I’ve seen are so misinformed and biased that it’s hard to actually take them seriously. My point in this paragraph is that, those of you in the community that are complaining way too much, need to stop negatively taking advantage of 343i’s desire to listen to what you have to say. Like the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf, he kept bothering the townspeople to the point that they no longer listened to him when he really needed it. Don’t be that guy!
Personally, I feel like Halo 4 is shaping up to be truly amazing. The concept design is innovative, and brilliant; the artwork is just masterful (have you seen the rocks?!); the people who’ve played the game all agree that the game feels great; Forge looks amazing from what 343i showed us at RTX; the campaign looks like it’ll be dramatic, engaging, and fantastic; I love their idea of incorporating multiplayer into the story; and have you seen those armors?! Just straight beautiful.
Again, thank you 343i for all the hard work you’ve put into making this game for us. Thank you so much for listening to your negative, but ultimately loving, fans. And don’t be disheartened by the “haters” not all of us are like them. Keep up the good work, and I’m looking forward to what you do with the new Halo series.
So community, to balance all of the extremely negative feedback, what are your favorite things that you’ve seen in Halo 4?
Mine is a tie between the music, and multiplayer design.
