Thank You 343i for all Your Hard Work

…and dedication to your fans!

This is my first post, so pardon me if I make any forum posting mistakes.

I really appreciate how much 343i cares about their fans, and fans of Halo. They were given a huge task of making a revolutionized Halo, while still satisfying the desires of older players who want an authentic Halo. I think, so far, they’re doing a truly amazing job!

If the people who are complaining about every little thing about this upcoming game-- that they haven’t even played yet-- would look past how selfish they are, they’ll see that Halo isn’t ruined. I mean, are they serious? How can a game be ruined just because awesome new features are added? Calm down.

If you take a second to think about what 343i has really done to matchmaking, you’ll see that what they’ve made it an amazingly -Yoink!- game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Yes, there are some relatively OP functions in the game --PV, and whatever else-- but they can easily be countered by many things. Just because you can see through walls doesn’t mean your shot is better than the player you’re going against; who’s to say the other player doesn’t have PV too? (to prove my point, go back and look at the MLG gameplay vids from E3; most of the pros were using PV, but the games still ended around 550-600 (Link for the lazy.)

And speaking of PV, 343i has nerfed it. Twice. They are really trying hard to listen to the community’s demands and adjust their game accordingly. The problem is, most of the posts I’ve seen are so misinformed and biased that it’s hard to actually take them seriously. My point in this paragraph is that, those of you in the community that are complaining way too much, need to stop negatively taking advantage of 343i’s desire to listen to what you have to say. Like the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf, he kept bothering the townspeople to the point that they no longer listened to him when he really needed it. Don’t be that guy!

Personally, I feel like Halo 4 is shaping up to be truly amazing. The concept design is innovative, and brilliant; the artwork is just masterful (have you seen the rocks?!); the people who’ve played the game all agree that the game feels great; Forge looks amazing from what 343i showed us at RTX; the campaign looks like it’ll be dramatic, engaging, and fantastic; I love their idea of incorporating multiplayer into the story; and have you seen those armors?! Just straight beautiful.

Again, thank you 343i for all the hard work you’ve put into making this game for us. Thank you so much for listening to your negative, but ultimately loving, fans. And don’t be disheartened by the “haters” not all of us are like them. Keep up the good work, and I’m looking forward to what you do with the new Halo series.

So community, to balance all of the extremely negative feedback, what are your favorite things that you’ve seen in Halo 4?

Mine is a tie between the music, and multiplayer design.

Couldn’t have said it better myself lol.

I like all the armors and customization options we’ll have because it really gives you the feeling of conforming to your on type of player. Like using Stealth based equipment or Team based equipment. Campaign sure is gonna be a great thing lol.

wait, how the hell am i selfish for seeing some horrible balance and gameplay elements that can potentially ruin the default game? i don’t understand it, i really don’t see how this is selfish.

if everything is OP then that again is bad, it may be balanced but when its all overpowered its all the game is going to be when they’re meant to play a smaller more enhancing roll not be the main factor of the gameplay.

Depends on who your fighting, just got to try to adapt and overcome the players you meet. The Covenant had their loadouts. some had two Plasma rifles, some energy swords, some active camo, some armor lock, some heavy weapons. We still killed them even though the Covenant was more overpowered than us.

I’m not going to insult you in this reply, seeing as I’ve already done so in my OP; however, I challenge you to explain to me how exactly the game is imbalanced, and how the new features ruin the gameplay instead of spicing it up.

I will gladly delete my post, take back everything I said, AND even cancel my preorder, if you can completely and coherently analyze all the aspects of Halo 4 multiplayer and tell me exactly how it’s imbalanced.

Nice to see some positive threads in this sea of hate. I agree, 343 is doing a much better job then Bungie, who I think stopped caring on what they make around the time of Halo 3. They have been given a difficult task of not only revolutionizing Halo, but working with what they are given and the ground up which is an incredibly difficult task. They have shown us no less then the best and Halo 4 looks beautiful.

It not all the game is going on, someone who is harder to see in Promethean Vision isn’t going to be able to dodge a rocket, nor is any other specialization. You chose your armor to fit your playstyle and use it to your advantage, not the other way around where the armor will control the game.

You realize it is okay to complain about things you don’t like right? You don’t have to blindly follow every decision 343i makes.

Well said, and I agree.

There are potentially unbalanced things in here, but 343i are already making efforts to tweak them based on community feedback. Control schemes as well.

People need to stop overreacting. The smart ones would wait until today’s bulliten to complain about specializations. If you’re going to jump to conclusions, use confirmed 343i stuff to do it, not IGNorant IGN with some false info.

I read every piece of Halo 4 news released twice to make sure it’s clear and everything looks great in everything I’ve seen.

Can someone kindly explain how you put the text you’re replying to into your reply? Thanks a bunch!

Anyway, to spartain ken 15

I definitely realize that criticism is important, but that’s not what this post is about. There’s enough of that all over the forum. This post is specifically about being positive, to encourage 343i to continue making the game better. Developers need both negative and positive feedback, other wise their game is going to go in all the wrong places because of the imbalanced feedback.

I am excited for Halo 4 to but I just wanted to bring up a point.

There is a difference between just complaining, and providing constructive criticism or feedback.

343i ruined Halo! This isn’t Halo!
Thats just hating.

Or BR is useless and will never be used because the DMR beats it in every single situation!
Is overreacting.

Specializations are completely overpowered and will give people massive advantages!
Is being ignorant or overreacting.

Constructive criticism and feedback would provide explanations and suggestions.

There is a difference between “343i don’t be stupid, put in a visible ranking system or else the game wil fail!”
and “343i, a visible ranking system will help [put thought out concern here].” Then address the concerns that 343i has, like boosting, and provide suggestions.

A majority of whats out there in the forum is hating, and complaining. There isn’t much constructive criticism and feedback, just saying that it sucks or needs to be changed or thrown away (without offering much of an explanation).

> You realize it is okay to complain about things you don’t like right? You don’t have to blindly follow every decision 343i makes.

Yes, I realize criticism is essential to help build a better game so they can get the ideas of what the fans think should be in Halo. But no one has played it yet so no can criticize. And so far, I like the way Halo 4 looks.

Thank you Yiazmat012, and Itzy Bitsy Cat

i made this all possible it’s all because of me.

> i made this all possible it’s all because of me.

Thats incredibly random

It gave me a good chuckle.

But seriously, it’s great to see some positivity on the forums.

I agree! A round of applause for 343i. I really appreciate what they’re doing for this game and how they’re spending extra time and effort to keep us informed.
