Thank You, 343.

Thank you, 343. Thank you for taking on the challenge of continuing what, for many of us, is our favorite video game franchise. I have played (and mostly enjoyed) every game donned with Halo’s glorious appellation and have read almost every novel fortuitous enough to be a part of the Haloverse.

Now, with all of that being said, I am exceptionally excited for Halo 4. Let us unite, fellow UNSC and Covenant (maybe even some Forerunners or, dare I say, Flood?) alike. Let us be hopeful for its success - financially and, more importantly, for its gratification of us anxious and committed fans - as we eagerly await its powerful return to its online kingdom. Yes, its kingdom. That is to say Halo, with all its might and strength, will dominate Xbox LIVE yet again and be crowned (at least one can hope) with the same crown of ascendancy as its Precursors.

As fans, we should humbly await what treasures 343 will illuminate and hold back our judgement until “holiday 2012.” The game they are crafting, I hope, will unbind us from the tracks of complacency and alleviate us from the ever approaching locomotive of shooter (First Person, specifically) attenuation. For 343 to do this, however, they will need to make significant (albeit intelligent and cautious) progressions with the game. They must do this while remaining faithful to Halo and its unique qualities. All in all, from what I have read and heard from 343, they seem to be following this route of amelioration/fidelity. I do not think our patience or support will go unrewarded; and if it does, well, we simply will not buy their games.

Thanks and God bless,
A Halo Fan

We shouldn’t thank them YET. Thanks/trust and respect all have to be earned… And they didn’t do anything with halo 4 that’s worth thanking because we cant play it yet to know for sure…

For a first post… not bad. : )

And welcome to the forums OP.

I just meant it as a thank you for even continuing it. Halo could have stopped where it was (which might not have been a bad thing). I am just glad to have more Halo. Also, many from Bungie are at work with 343 which is cause for hope. You are right, though. We should have a healthy amount of skepticism, but I would like to add that optimism is key.

So long as 343i can make Halo good again, I’m happy. And so far I can’t hate on what I’ve seen.

I’ve seen skillful play > random play, and I hope to keep seeing it.
