Thank You 343

As much of the bickering I have been hearing about Halo 4 change in game play and MCC glitches, I wanted to point out that they have done a great job on taking on the legacy. Those who do not like the changes in Halo 4 (i.e. sprinting), try going back to the old games after playing through Halo 4 and tell me it wasn’t a nice convenience to add on, also adds greater strategy to the multiplayer as annoying as it may be when someone runs away.
As far as the MCC goes, I had an epiphany as I was loading up a game. ‘It was really well done!’ The whole organization of the 4 (5) games and the navigation through them was seamless. I loved it and wanted to say how amazing of a job they did on it (minus multiplayer launch).

This is a little late coming, but as a long time Halo fan (when I first read it in PC Gamer magazine (yes PC Gamer for those Halo history buffs)) This was a great feat to undertake and it was amazingly built. I still enjoy going on and launching it and since I don’t have much time to play games as I once did, I have chosen this one to always take some time for. Problems are easy to point out, especially when they are annoying, but when you step back and admire the things that do work and function, it is a marvel to behold.

Thank you and we appreciate the work that was done to keep the legacy moving forward.

After playing Halo 4 and going back to playing Halo 2 or Halo 3 multiplayer it makes me wonder why 343 is so stupid to continue down their path of destruction. Sprint hurts halo multiplayer not even going to waste my time as the points been driven a million times on here yet halo 4 fans just seem to ignore it SMH.

Always nice to read something positive about Halo gaming, I try to have the same attitude when gaming by focusing on the positive aspects. I too really like the UI layout and all the nice touches that were added e.g. playlists, unified controller layout, medals toggles etc. I have my gripes about online functionality and Australian dedicated servers sometimes and as you say it’s easy to focus on the negative. I’m hoping all the great elements of MCC by design and the Xbox One OS itself come together to play nice with the Windows 10 dashboard update prior to H5 launching.

It’s not just MCC that has party issues and all that, we’ve had regular daily/weekly friends get similar issues in Destiny, Killer Instinct and of course MCC. When MCC, party chat and players stick with a game being played it is the amazing experience it was on the design drawing board. The UI really lets you and a party get around all the games and modes very well but when it’s quitters and dropouts or restarting MCC it’s an exercise in frustration. I appreciate the hard work going on behind the scenes to get MCC to an acceptable state and things are a far sight better than at launch but it’s still not without issues.

Given the books, games, updates, art, audio, merchandise etc I’m still very happy about 343 continuing the Halo legacy moving forward. Onwards to Halo 5 and Wars 2.

Right here OP. You posed a scenario to prove a point, only MCC has given me ample and recent experiences to show undoubtedly that I prefer Halo without sprint.

Idk. MCC proved to me that the Halo is going in the right direction with sprint and AA’s. What I would give to have a ability to sprint in Halo 3. Idk why. They say in Halo: CE - 3 you move at a constant 7/ meters per a second. Yet halo 3 feels like I’m racing a turtle while Halo 2 Classic feels like I’m a rabbit if I compare those 2. Halo: CE is on between.

And I enjoy the option to sprint. People hate on it. But in CQB combat maps. I rarely use it. Only times I do is when I am rushing to support a teammate who is in trouble or just spawning and trying to get back in the fight faster. In the Small Arena maps, you don’t even need to sprint. It’s just a option.

But in the big open BTB maps. Sprint is a god sent. There are so many big open maps in Halo 3 that forces you out into the open for long stretches just to be picked apart by BR or sniper fire. But in Halo 4 in the same senario’s. I’m able to sprint from cover to cover to lay on the pressure like I can do in real life when I served in the army. Seriously, if im out in the open and getting shot at, am I going to Jog (Halo 1-3) or sprint (Reach - 5) to the closest cover to me. I’m going to go what I was drilled in the Military and sprint and even dive (thruster pack) into the closest cover to me. And engage when possible or fall back and reassess the situation.

But this is just opinion as I know your statement is your opinion and will respect that fact

I completely disagree, going from halo 4 back to halo 3 or 2 feels terrible, it even feels bad going from 4 to reach.
After playing halo 4 the other games feel awfully slow, i would compare it to driving in the country and then having to slow down when you get into town, it just feels so so slow.
Halo 4 is a great game, probably my favorite halo to be honest.

Yes, they have fixed the glitches well.

came in here to say something similar to this.Sprint is what defined other games…not Halo.It was poorly implemented into Reach but at least it was class specific, when it was universally implemented into Halo 4 the community definitively said NO. Halo 5 sprint is the middle ground that most players can accept.Halo has always been very methodical and has always had a certain pace to each game. Halo 5 keeps that pace by punishing sprint users whom use it too much and 343i have increased base movement speeds to make sprint seem like an added movement bonus…instead of the only way you move around the map (like in Halo 4).

Sadly I don’t think I can thank them, in any regards with MCC. Sure they got the game working, mostly, now. Congratulations you did your job which you should have done from the start. This game was so botched upon release. Halo is supposed to be the crown jewel game on Xbox and MCC made it a laughing stock of a game. Also the game clearly still issues and at this point it’s clear it will more likely never be 100% functional. Halo has been a major part of my gaming, pretty much all I ever play, and MCC was just a total insult to the series.

Ditto to you last statement.

Compared to other games sprint has just been next to useless for me in Halo. I know everyone I played Halo with feels the same, and that’s why I’m really not sold on the idea.
