…For steadily ruining one of the best video game franchises ever.
Sure, games have to evolve. However, there is NOTHING remotely innovative to the additions in Halo 5. Just replicating the rest of the market (COD obviously, and poorly).
Even the map designs (a midship remake!?) and art direction are weak.
Along with the constant voiceover updates, killcam (wtf?!) and LAME team animations (YEAH! HIGH FIVE!!!)…343 can suck it.
Such feedback. Much not troll.
But seriously, there is an immense amount of innovation in this game and if you fail to see it, you should watch or play more gameplay and try doing not while you’re high.
The only thing that this game takes out of other games is Killcam(which was already in a halo installement) and FPS mechanics like sprint and guns,
Let’s not forget how Bungie sabotaged the series with Reach. Credit or blame where it’s due as they say…

You may want to consider editing the “try doing not while you’re high” part which makes you look like the dope fiend yourself…
Killcam has been done before in other games as you pointed out, as have sprint and “iron sights” but then there’s climbing and sliding which probably come from Crysis or Mirror’s Edge… When these features have all been borrowed from other franchises how can you call them innovative?

I call them innovative because of the unique way they are employed in Halo with the Spartan Abilities.
There are some features that are so basic in FPS game that I wouldn’t consider it borrowing, rather modernizing.
Shooting, for instance, is an obvious base feature of FPS games. In this gen, so are obvious human capabilities such as running and climbing.
I still believe that Halo employs them in a relatively unique way, the way that they structured them around GEN2 Spartan Abilties and added stuff like Ground Pound to go along with it blends together to make unique and interesting gameplay.
Sure, some of these features may be borrowed from other games which have similar features, but that doesn’t entirely discredit it.
Having a feature or mechanic from another game is not identity theft.
BTW, they also obviously tried to make it unique as possible with like “Smart Link” and such.

I’ll admit that Perfect Dark Zero felt anachronistic without a jump button but I don’t think that climbing (or even sprinting to a lesser extent) is ubiquitous in 2014-15’s FPS games. I don’t really agree that the new features are used in a particularly original way overall either but you have your opinion and I respect it. I haven’t seen the float while jumping and zooming mechanic in any other games so that does seem to be fairly original and it doesn’t break any of the main staples of the series (technical crouch jumps etc) so it’s probably the one new addition that I don’t mind.

Not a single valid point. My observations were made while totally sober. Not with a losing perspective either. First game: Round won, Running Riot, 3X triple kills. First time ever playing. Not to brag, just to distinguish the difference of pointing out flaws when losing as opposed to winning.
Even as the latter, this game is mediocre garbage that lacks creativity and depth. Yes, its a FPS, but the Halo franchise always set a bar. Even when working a “less is more” ideal. 343i are NOT creative. They are NOT quality developers and honestly should have never been handed the title to work with. I don’t know where the fanboys come from for these “developers”.
Seriously, you’re telling me that you’re playing this beta and with all these additions, the gameplay doesn’t feel shallow and lacking to you?
It’s trash in my opinion and I had really high hopes for it.
