Thank you 343 industries <3

(i didn’t really know where to post this at and i thought this would be a pretty good place)
Please No hate, just a thank you note

I would like to thank everybody at 343 industries for all the hard work they are putting into Halo 4. From visuals to the music, i just love it all. Every day i try to get on these forums just to see what is buzzing about Halo 4. You guys did really amazing with Halo: Combat evolved Anniversary, you made it feel new again, some companies can’t do that especially with a great successor it was when Halo Combat Evolved first came out. Especially living in the shadow of a company that fueled Halo for so long.

When you guys made Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary i knew that was only a seed, getting the community back to the roots of Halo and how they use to be, and retelling a story that was in need of being told again.

Now you have s huge fan base that is excited for Halo 4 and is ready to see that plant grow into a beautiful flower. If i could i would drive to Seattle just to thank every single one of the 343 employees. Thank you 343 for expanding onto the Halo series. I appreciate your work and look forward to the future.

Thank you 343 Industries for bringing back Halo.

Bringing back Halo? Where did it go? Don’t you dare say Reach because even though Reach has this crazy stigma that it’s not a Halo game, people need to realize that Reach plays fantastic under the proper settings…

Give Reach a 1-50 rank and make the TU or ZB playlists with faster player speed and less AA’s and you’d have a smash hit that much less of the population would complain about. People are too naive and stubborn to see past this.

HALO 4 HERE WE GO!

I know you don’t want hate and all, and while I’m going to be civil…

> getting the community back to the roots of Halo and how they use to be

I can’t really overlook the blatant lie they fed us in which you’re supporting.

What, in your opinion, are the roots of Halo then? Because to me, each Halo game has felt drastically different one from the next.

Staring on 100% EVEN playing fields (not balanced to the best of there ability, but truly even)

Rewarding knowledgeable players (random weapon spawn times / locations as well as a waypoint that points to it -_-)

Focusing and encouraging 1v1 gun-play ( Sprinting away from a fight and not being able to shoot if you so decide to chase is absolutely detrimental to this IMO. Strafing was also nearly destroyed in reach although we’re not sure about halo 4 yet)

There are a lot more points I could go into about reach, but I’m not 100% sure how halo 4 will handle them yet.

I applaud OP’s thanks to 343i, but everything i’ve seen so far does nothing but scare me (accept the br) And i have more reason to distrust 343i than i do to thank them.

My comments in bold. You’ve said nothing to me that makes it seem like Halo 4 won’t still feel like Halo.

Fully agreed.

Halo 4 is shaping to be an amazing game!

Just have a little faith. They are doing all they can just to please the community, they can’t really say much of anything because of the NDA. I’m sure they will show you what they have in store at the right time in the right place, you just have to wait til it expires. Just no more hate pleasee

That’s still a huge problem, you’ve just confirmed that for me… halo may only feel like halo in 1 playlist. And that playlist will probably be buried like mlg and arena is in reach. None the less, obviously I’ll be playing “classic”.

As for regenerator and bubble shield. They were map pick ups… i could care less if there was a single sprint pick up on the map. That would be a truly great innovation.

It will still feel like halo to you, to me halo will not be halo if the skill level is devalued to such an extent. Yes, i could still go into vanilla reach / 4 playlists and win nearly as much as with the larger skill gap. But it simply isn’t the same.

Maybe not a “truly great” innovation… excuse my wording. But an innovation that stays true to what I believe halo thrived because of, yes.

Sounds depressing… I’ll just leave it at that.

Halo Anniversary sure was good at least
Halo 4 is very hard to pass judgement on since I’ve not played it or even seen 20 minutes of gameplay, hence it would be crazy to say “it’s good” or “it’s bad” since we don’t know. We can hope, we can guess, but we can’t know.
Keep that in mind both haters and fanboys, we know nothing and hence all love/hate is undeserved, at least when it comes to Halo 4. We can love/hate th ideas, but not how they’re implemented, since we don’t know.
