Thank you 343 for giving us the chance to play what will probably be the best Halo in a long time. As everyone knows the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta will launch December 27th and will continue until January 22nd.
That gives players almost an entire month to play and experience everything that we will be able to play in the beta. Fans are going have a lot of Halo to play starting November on the Xbox One.
I can tell that the beta will give 343 lot’s of mixed feedback and to tell them what needs to be rightfully done with this game by the community. Even Bonnie Ross said that Halo 5 will be a “Bigger effort than Halo 4”.
I’m glad 343 hired some of the best pro players from the past. I’m expecting Halo 5 multiplayer to be a mix of elements from Halo 2, 3 and some of 4, I know parts of the Halo community don’t want any Halo 4 elements but 343 needs to engage with non Halo players and 343 needs to do that in a right way that gets attention from the outsiders and the community
I want this game to the one of the definitive reasons that people will buy the Xbox One. I want this this to succeed and bring Halo back to it’s glory days.
Thank You 343 for so many great memories you have surprised the community with. I thought that Halo 4 was a great introduction to the Halo series from you guys (Excluding Anniversary).
I was not expecting Halo: The Master Chief Collection at all, 4 Halo games for the price of 1 game, Halo 5 Beta and a new TV Series, that gave the community a lot more respect for 343, I guess you never know what the future holds.
I’ll be playing the Beta everyday if I get the chance. I’ll be looking forward for more exciting news and surprises from 343 in the future.
This may be the most useful Beta of all time … it’s coming out nearly a year before the game is released, so you know our feedback will make a difference.
Kudos to 343
And they are taking a risk here; competing developers are also going to see this and be able to tell where 343 is heading and they’ll have an entire year to use that to their advantage. Or is that risky? I don’t know how it works, it just crossed my mind.
> A month long beta? No complaints here. They need more betas as long as this (Destiny I’m looking at you).
Hahaha nice one! im kind of narked off about the 4 day beta, while ps4 had the alpha and they are going to give them a longer beta than us. I wonder how much £ PlayStation gave them for that. (a lot probably)
Not trying to rain on your parade OP, but I would be exceedingly cautious not to let my optimism blind me if I were you. Halo 4 was possibly the worst Halo game in the entire franchise, as well as the worst designed overall. It had outsourced everything (cutscenes, multiplayer, Spartan Ops, development, lore, etc.), the worst multiplayer in the series that they admitted themselves, tons of cut features from previous games, a poorly written and melodramatic campaign that was about as relatable as a Mexican soap opera, as well as borrowing the Reach engine itself, which caused tons of problems when trying to understand the code which then led to poor creative decisions such as keeping AA’s and Reach’s texture loading issues. Not only did all of that happen, but it also had no support at launch with many bugs and missing features, a lot of which are still here today. Not only that, but due to 343’s “innovations,” Halo 4 had the fastest amount of population drop of for online play for any Halo game, with the total online population dropping below 300,000 players 8 days after release.
Halo 4 was a decent game, but a terrible Halo game. Spartan Assault was even more forgettable. With the announcement of Halo 5, the majority of the fanbase is honestly quite terrified. Halo 5 is either going to go one of two ways: 1) 343 will some how miraculously find Bungie’s secret formula to make a good Halo game and it will be a great title, or 2) Halo 5 will perform just as bad, if not worse, than Halo 4 in terms of scale and perfection and it will sink faster than a greased-up Titanic and the Xbone will sink right with it. Place your faith wherever you wish, but at least consider a healthy dose of reality with it.
Also, I’m very surprised you had no clue the Halo Collection was coming out. It was leaked on Google News a month before E3, plus after Halo: CEA was released everybody was begging for a H2: A. It was kind of obvious.

I think Halo 4 was a great game. If I had to rank it, it would probably be fifth on the list, right above Reach and CE and below 2, 3, ODST and Wars. I loved Halo 4, and I think it did better then I was expecting. I have extremely high hopes for this beta because I know 343 knows what they are doing.

I fully agree. There was almost nothing I really liked about Halo 4, it was a huge letdown to me.
I’m pessimistic about Guardians. But it’s great that they’re having a beta so we can experience first hand what direction the game is going in and get a much better idea on how it will turn out.
I know this is going to sound strange but id rather look at youtube vids people post of the beta before i even think about getting a XBone. It probably because im from the era of “rent before you buy” but shiny and new is worthless compaired to the answer to “is it good?”. I made the mistake with H4.

To be quite honest I agree with what this guy said.
Halo 4 may of killed off some of my love for the entire series.
343 All I have to say is Please don’t disappoint us. Halo has been my go to game since Halo 2. But Halo 4 made the game drop off. I hope the MCC restores faith in the Halo franchise, and I pray Halo 5 will knock us dead…
Just want those good old days of playing Halo with a population above 15,000 back…
Halo 4 is why I’m very excited about Halo 5:Guardians. I’m hoping to take part in the Beta which would be the first time I’ve ever done one, and I can’t wait to see where they’re taking the story. I think the series is in good hands
In multiple videos and interviews since Halo 4 launched, I’ve heard the same statement echo’d over and over.
“We’ve learned a lot from Halo 4.”
The fact we have received a FOUR WEEK beta (an actual beta, not an extremely old Alpha build like Battlefield 3 and 4, or a week/4 day ‘beta’ two months before the games release like Destiny) is a massive improvement compared to both public betas that Bungie did in the past. It’s also a massive improvement over the fact you never held a public beta for Halo 4.
Thank you for listening to us and please, keep your promise and make changes based on our beta feedback.
It’s going to be really interesting to see what it’s like to actually play a halo game a significant time before release. Things are going to feel way more different in the final game than they did from the Reach/H3 beta

They also like to constantly remind us that they are listening to the fans, considering this community always likes to accuse them of being incapable of listening to community feedback. Time will tell.
