I know I’m late with this but I just read about the mixer stream where it was basically confirmed that Battle Royale will not be in Halo: Infinite. Just wanted to know if there are more people like me who believe that Battle Royal has no place in Halo and should strictly stay with Fortnite and PUBG. Especially since almost every person that has tried to make their own battle royal has failed.
I wish we got the same news about Warzone.

Good. Halo should stop trying to copy the trends of the industry, that hasn’t worked well before. It’s much better off if they work off of what is already there and figure how to evolve it.
A Halo 5 2.0 in terms of multiplayer (not Halo 5.5, a true evolution from 5’s features and mechanics) could potentially be very good.

I believe too many resources were dedicated to Warzone that Arena multiplayer was an afterthought. Think about all the reqs, and entire microtransaction system that was created just for Warzone. You can see how it got the bulk of attention since it was designing gameplay from the ground up. I appreciate aspects of it but, ultimately the pros are outweighed by the cons such as the game shipping with an embarrassing low amount of Arena playlists and unmemorable maps.
Just want to add that this news isn’t new, the same info was mentioned on a live stream a few months back that 343 aren’t working on any type of Battle Royal modes

The whole pay to win aspect, bullet sponge bosses, boss kills that seem to give credit to random players, an oversaturated weapon pool that blocks classic halo loadouts like a dmr under a wall of grind hours, and did I mention the whole pay to win thing?
Halo infinite is looking better everyday.

there were a number of problems. mainly 343 putting so much focus of halo 5 on it which eliminated content at launch for halo 5. then there’s also the game easily becoming a farm, and even though 343 has gotten better at patching up bugs and fixing connection issues for warzone than before, my friends and I still lag out of plenty of matches. and I’m know not all of us have bad internet.
however it is still my all time favorite game mode, I hope it returns with some tweaks and more game mode variations.
Good. I’m glad that Frankie hit on the point that Halo’s community feature suite is in-fact robust enough to cater to such a mode, even if its not being officially supported; it gives us a bit of insight into the mindset going into Infinite, a significant change from Halo 5 where every mode was segregated and purpose built.
Here’s hoping Warzone and Co-op specific Campaign features get the boot as well.
Man lot of warzone hate. I always thought firefight was pretty awesome not too much on normal warzone though.

I’m delighted to hear that 343i isn’t gonna hope on board the battle royale trend.
If people want to create a battle royale in Infinite, jump into customs and create a gamemode with BR esque settings and go into Forge to forge (no pun intended) a map to accommodate the mode.

If the only mode was BR I could see a lot of people sharing that sentiment. Not everyone likes or wants more BR games. Would you also quit if there was still arena/social modes, along with a BR mode? As in BR would just be another category like Warzone in H5 but still keeping things like SWAT and BTB. If so, why?

To me yes that to me would signify 343 officially going down the path of modern and main stream gaming which is not why most people love halo for
I just want to take this moment to thank 343 for making a solid decision even if they will never read it.
343 you are so incredibly creative I believe you can make amazing game types 10x better then a generic royale mode.

To be fair they’ve been doing that since H4 haha. What if everything else besides the BR mode was really good quality?
I’m curious, what if Infection had been created by other developers first and just recently became an incredibly common/popular gametype? Would everyone now be saying, “No, 343, don’t chase that trend, don’t bring Infection into Halo!”?
It seems to me that 343, with all the shoddy decisions they’ve made, have successfully brainwashed this community into thinking that all ideas originating outside of this community are created equal. But that’s not the truth.
