Have you seen the recently announced Season Pass for Battlefront? You have to spend £95 to get the complete game (base game + season pass) and even then you don’t even get a single-player campaign. Compare that with the amount of content in Halo 5, an 8-15 hour campaign, 20 multiplayer maps, massive amount of REQ and customization items options and even more maps and features post-launch.
I’ve really come to appreciate 343i decision to make all DLC free in exchange for micro-transactions (Which seem to be fair and balanced), it’s a much much better alternative to ridiculously overpriced DLC’s and Season Pass’s that only help split-up the user base and make match-making slower. I feel like 343i don’t get commended enough for it. (I’m not trying to be a kiss–Yoink-)

Seems like that should be Xbox’s slogan instead of PS4’s since all PS4 has is exclusivity rights to DLC in games like Star Wars Battlefield or Assassin Creed that does nothing to benefit players (except publishers) instead of proper AAA games and free DLC.
Free MP DLC is genius. How many times have I sunk money into Season Passes and Map Packs, but the modes I prefer are never in the map packs. Despite MCC’s downfalls one of the best things was every map for every game including DLC being available. I’ve played on maps I’ve NEVER played before despite owning them!

Some people are never happy, but you know if 343i want to go ahead and polish up Reach to 60fps I wont be complaining, even if I have to pay for it as DLC in MCC

If you paid for odst then you weren’t around mcc at launch. By the time they made that december cut off, it was actually a massive improvement compared to launch. Still way better now though

If MCC had launched with it’s CURRENT quality, it would still have been fixed to near perfection. Why should we lower our standards because the game launched in one of the most broken state ever for a AAA game ? It’s better now but it’s still unacceptable. I’m still getting UNEVEN teams and not random, but SYSTEMATIC disconnections in coop. People like me who have bought the MCC are also getting ripped off.
I appreciate the free DLC in Halo 5 but at the same time I see it as my own compensation for MCC since I haven’t had the free ODST campain. And I also know that the free DLC thing isn’t a gift to us gamers, but a calculated decision. 343i has evaluated that microtransactions will be more profitable than DLC packs, that’s all.

True but I had some issues even with campaigns as well. And playlists to a smaller extent.
Till im ad map packs will be free, thst way if you dont have it Installed, your game wont run mm. So many time in the past, mostly reach and 4, we would try to get a btb going and one or 2 wouldnt have the map pack.
I know im psyched myself about the free DLC. my nephew (who is hardcore COD fan) ended up canceling his preorder for COD and switched to H5. Thank YOU 343!!!

This is spot on. Having to pay for 5 different map packs over the course of a couple years does nothing but split the community up and ruin MP. Now the new maps are free and everyone will have access at the same time? Keeps us all together and keeps the experience fresh for everyone. Brilliant.

I personally enjoy star wars battlefront, it plays entirely different from Halo though. Which is nice, I like piloting the fighters and crap as well. and if battlefield 4 is any indication you will be able to get the base game and all expansions eventually for a discount…maybe in a year-ish.
