- On Xbox, this feature can be enabled through the Xbox Settings menu. Navigate to Ease of Access > Game Transcription > Text-to-speech - On PC, this feature can be enabled through the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Accessibility Settings. Navigate to Options & Career > Settings > Accessibility > Convert Text-To-Speech > OFF - had this problem as well this should fix it.
Because some of us gamers are mute, regardless of console or PC?
It’s funny because it’s the opposite situation for me on PC. I can’t get it to turn on.

Literally have the exact same problem and it’s driving me up the walls, it’s not the Xbox narrator it’s the same one as on pc and I know because I played mcc on pc as well. Please disable it or at least give console the options to turn it off

Nvm on all that for everyone on Xbox if you have this issue look into you ease of access and then game transcriptions setting not the narrator setting directly. I spent way to long trying to figure this problem out which could’ve been prevented but hope thus help

I can’t find game transcription
Perhaps there is no way to turn it off if no one can find a way

You have to make sure your region is set to United States. If set to anything else, the option will not show up. Change to United States, turn off the option, then set your region back to what is was originally. I just did mine from Sweden to US and then back to Sweden. Worked.

This was driving me bonkers for months until now this shelter in place has given me some free time to figure it out:
Communication & Multiplayer is what I believe to be where you can fix this! If you are like me and did/do not appreciate any of the Microsoft voices speaking text messages sent from other players, you might want to give this a try. Obviously the Narrator wasn’t the issue and it didn’t let you turn off the Game Transcription in Ease of Access so I decided to look a bit deeper. I found that in the Privacy settings you can find the Communication and Multiplayer section which let’s you customize these settings. Under the “Others Can Can Communicate With…” for me was set to Everyone; I just changed it to friends only and I doubt I’ll be hearing Xbox David again… unless it’s from a friend! ; )
I’ve got the same problem and no matter what I change the settings it’s still speaking and very annoying. Help. Xbox One version.
This is really not accurate anymore for xbox as the transcription is takin off sense an update in january so if anybody knows a updated solution please let me know, because the narrating is making me want to uninstall the game again, tried finding transcription but it has been took off of the ease of access
I found the solution. You have to disable it through the Xbox settings, not the MCC settings. So on your dashboard or guide menu, head to settings. On settings, go to ease of access. In that menu make sure on Narrator, Narrator On is ticked off. If you still hear it, on the ease of access menu, go into Game transcription. In Game transcription, make sure every option is ticked off. After that, the narrator in the game will be gone.
I’m like the 100th person who said this but I think I have solved it. If you go into audio on Halo MCC you have to make sure voice chat is off that’s what the problem was for me and it’s now fixed. If you tried all the other ways that are on this page and they worked great but this is what worked for me and I hope it helps others.
