In a custom Breakout match I found that at close and long range the Magnum is a 3 shot kill to anywhere on the body, head included. Immediately after I was able to record a clip of myself getting 5 hit markers on an enemy player in a match using the Magnum at medium range. Please test it out and try and reproduce the results, post your findings here.
the game is hit-scan it does not matter how far you are from your target.

That is not what hit-scan means or have anything to do with what he is asking.

And it wrong. Some guns maybe. All? No
I thought it was 3 headshots to kill or like 4 or 5 body shots…

I did too. My test suggests its 3 shots from the magnum anywhere on the enemy player from any part of the Magnums effective range. This is what happened in my test at least. However, all you have to do is go play a few Breakout matches and you will see that it can take 5 or 6 rounds to kill a player…or sometimes 2. The point being the magnum seems to be inconsistent in Breakout, which is a problem. If we can gather some evidence of this and show 343 it would help. Alternatively, I would love to have someone prove me wrong because it would mean the problem is on my end and correctable. So, is there an official/confirmed number of magnum shots to kill in Breakout somewhere? Anybody else test this out?
I know Breakout is high damage. From a medium range I kept getting hit markers on this guy, but he never died (pistol). I don’t have proof really, but it got me thinking that match, ultimately I just let it slide as a fluke.

Yeah, this is what attracted me to the mode and I play it a lot! I love the mode and I love the aiming. However you and I have noticed the same thing about the hit markers. Again, in a controlled environment it was 3 shot kill with the magnum from any distance within the weapon’s effective range. Live matches it can be anywhere from 2 to 6 with the same gun and I am just wondering why.
I wonder if someone goofed up & custom games damage isn’t up to date to the release build.
Kind of like how the weapon tuning update in H4 never applied to custom games.

Ohhhhh -Yoink-…Good thinking man. This could be it. I’m playing now and not getting any kills on full health opponents with anything less than 5 shots. So weird. I just want to know exactly how many shots is going to drop enemy players.
Remember your health does regen so it could be that depending on how long the engagement is.

I did, I’m just referring to consecutive shots. Like how in team slayer you can count 4 br head shots and know for a fact the 4th will drop them. Or the 5th with the magnum.
magnums are just bad period sorry but I’m a BR man

BR starts in all Breakout games would be amazing imo. Maybe they will change it later.
It doesn’t matter if it is hit-scan. They can still have damage drop off if they choose. game is hit-scan it does not matter how far you are from your

Are you considering if they took a hit before getting to engage you?
its definitely 3 to the head, or 5 overall. But it they already took a frag impact or a stray bullet you may think it isn’t?
