Also where does the code get entered?
id assume the “redeem code” option when you press the xbox home button on your controller then go left 1 screen. 
But the codes are half the normal size?
it should still work i think, i mean where else would you put the codes?
Maybe in game or a site? Cause isn’t Xbox usually 25 digit codes.
