test out.

Running that many players is certainly possible, but 343i needs to get their head in the game with online services on the Xbox One. Battlefield has done it but TMCC is a mess and needs to be addressed(sadly, it won’t, as focus has shifted to H5).

Not 64 but a high number could work IF this happened:

  1. Dedicated servers
  2. much larger maps

Both of which are not maturely viable.

Sadly it won’t? You know there’s a massive patch coming in, practically overhauling how the game works since the other patches haven’t fully worked.
There is still a team on the MCC.

I would love a massive team battle as an option, maybe a super scaled invasion. Although finding players would take forever, unless there was a game browser and jip for the gamemode, similar to battlefields server browser.

343 has already indicated that they are bringing more big changes to multiplayer. What was shown off in the beta was just a small piece of the overall multiplayer suite. There have also been leaks in the past that have thus far proven to be true that also indicate that game mode will allow between 32-64 players to play at once. Time will tell.

By the time this Project Contingency is finished it will probably be 1 or 2 years after halo 5 has been released.

Halo 5 will have dedicated servers (finally) so this could be a real possibility

Halo CE was a game that deserved to have at least 32 players with maps that huge, but it never happened. With Halo5’s xbox one capabilities, do you think we could see this happening?

And here is a link to the sites disclaimer. http://www.project-contingency.net/h4-legal

Do I think they should do the same stuff? No, because they can’t. Halo 5 will not: be for PC, be Free, have the same Graphics or even have the same insperation as Project Contingency. Even if it works out fine for 32 player games I think 343I should focus there efforts else where to try and improve other aspects of the game. Large lobbies do not matter to me and have no influence on what I do. One more thing, that is concept art and has no reflection on what the game (Project Contingency) is going to be.

It has been in the works for over a year and a half and there is no Alpha build even close to being done. In October there was an update that indicated that by minimum LAN was working. Thankfully there are 2 dedicated (key word, there are more) programers working on this project ATM. In one to two years I could see a Beta being released for public testing.

Over at Project Contingency they are accepting help if you are willing to offer it and fallow the rules in place. http://www.project-contingency.net/h3-recruitment
