No, AR Starts are not fun.
Stop listening to the Crybaby crowd 343.
They are much better than BR starts. Now you have to pick up other weapons which halo is all about.
Having to hunt for BR’s got stale even more quickly. Melting the other team because they’re hunting for BR’s while my entire team controls BR spawns is equally as boring.
AR starts are so much fun! Said no one ever! Only fun when you are playing people who arent very good, sucks when you match up against a team that gets all the BR’s and then all you can do is die.
Meh. Both are ok in this game.
BR starts don’t mean the same thing as they did in other Halo’s. This is a different Halo that deserves its unique aspects to arise.
AR starts are soooo much better than BR. BR is a power weapon and if you actively go out to pick up a BR then you should be rewards to having the upper hand against an opponent that goes running and gunning. I have never faced a entire team with all BR’s with AR starts so I don’t know why everyone is complaining that is the case. Plus you can always pick up the Lightrifle or DMR in most cases and easily take out BR players.
The game is balanced with the way it is and the spartan abilities can actually be used now that you don’t start with precision weapons. 343 made the right decsion switching it to AR and Magnums!

I was already picking up other weapons in BR starts. In BR/pistol games, I search for an automatic for my close range needs. In BR/AR games, I’d occasionally swap for an SMG. I’m no fan of the DMR, but I’d pick it up sometimes to hit far targets. Of course, any of the power weapons I stumble upon are fair game, too.
I don’t really understand the camping argument too much. Maps like Midship would get you killed with its center platform, otherwise there is a nice flow going around the border with cross map fights occurring. Eden is a bit of a drag, but I really like Regret. BRs are more dangerous than ARs, so it should be obvious – and smart – to not run in the open. Staying in cover is not camping.
AR starts are better than they ever have been, but BR starts aren’t bad. It sounds like people are struggling in using the right weapon in the right situation.

Oh yeah its so much better to just spray with the AR (without any sign of skill) than to outskill an opponent with real BR aim. (Sarcasm)
What has the halo community become…
AR starts only encourage encounters in certain sections of maps with a rinse and repeat scenario always. Run and gun together and spray bullets is not skill.
i prefer br starts personally, ar starts pretty much turn the br/dmr into power weapons.
I fail to see how a default weapon with random bullet spead it balanced or fair.

Funny, I pick up weapons all the damn time with BR starts. I’ll trade my pistol/AR for SMGs, power weapons, LRs, DMRs, etc. Maybe you’re just playing wrong.
