The unsc technology would be able to build a weapon of this type of technology I think 343 should look at adding this weapon possibley to halo 6. I think unsc is due for another hand held energy weapon. I dont want plasma weapons I want weapons more unique to Humans and none of the other races use Telsa tech so but UNSC would do well to have a lightning gun weapon

A lightning gun would be awesome, maybe make it like the lightning gun from just cause 3, its like a lightning hammer of dawn.
They could build one for sure,but if it would be handheld.

I think it would break historical continuity as the UNSC never developed such weapons.

Its about the idea if the UNSC could develop and build such an weapon.Nothing about that they already have one and thus breaking historical continuity.
I like the idea of a lighting gun, shock rifle or arc thrower. I can see it making sense in the current state of halo enemy sandbox with all the hostile AI out there. To expand on that different ammo types could include shock rounds which greatly reduce shields and movement when in armour.

love it have variety in ammo similar to mass effect. I would just like to see another human based energy weapon but something unique to us. Even maybe replicating old human technology from the human-forerunner war days and utelising them as weapons
Considering that much of the UNSC equipment is made of or consists of metal and science says metal is conductive of electricity, that doesn’t sound like too great an idea it would most likely be counterproductive. I’m not a scientist or anything but I doubt you can aim electricity easily unless your target is conductive. I’m pretty sure a Spartan can survive such electricity but it might mess up the Mjolnir armor, kill your marine allies, and destroy your equipment. Although Mjolnir armor maybe made to be less conductive to electricity or something what is the purpose of a weapon that is just going to shoot yourself. Maybe since the UNSC has much more advanced technology than us it will work.

perhaps that true but this is science fiction its doesnt have to be scientifically accurate. I know halo does try to be as scientifically accurate as possible but sometimes its just nice to live in BS as well

I got you. I mean it still sounds like a cool idea.
