so i don’t want to seem like a debby downer because i really love all the new content this season. the oni map is chefs kiss perfect, the new cosmetics are dope, but i have to point this out because its really annoying. Why make challenges force you to play a specific playlist again? i thought they wanted to move away from that. All I wanna do is play btb but im forced to play a playlist featuring 2 gamemodes I dont enjoy in a format I dont enjoy (12v12>4v4) to progress through the passes
Because they want it to be this way, it’s as simple as that. One of the benefits of being the ones who create the games, you make the decisions.

The bad news is, we don’t always get what we want. That’s just how life is. You can try to persuade them of course, but they ultimately get the final call on how things are done. Regardless though, it won’t take you long to get them over with… You’ll live…

bad take, i’m playing the game to enjoy it, it’s not entitlement on my part to expect to be able to play the mode i want and still earn the new stuff. they already admitted that this was a bad thing to do with challenges, and they did it anyway. Stop trying to turn this into a life lesson, its a video game not a job

I believe it’s only this way during events, or at least that’s what it seemed to settle on during the winter update.
My guess is during non events challenges will go back to being completed via any playlist.
It comes with goods and bads. You have to play specific stuff, but you unlock literally 10x the customizable items.
They just want people to play the new maps.

Trust me, it’ll be over before you know it. Then you can have all the fun in BTB that you can get.
Because thoee challenges are towards the current update/event. Theres an event right now revolving around the new maps/modes. Thats why there is an orange flag on it.
After the update, rewards go back to normal challenges.
Odd take, but I sorta get it.
I’m not the biggest fan of Elimination/Extermination/whatever it’s called, and nor am I particularly fond of Chasm. But it’s new stuff, so I was more than fine to do one set of weekly challenges on the playlist. 343 want us to play the new content — they have spent time making it, after all. And after a couple of hours of solo queuing, I was done with them (I know it was that long because I used 2 xp boosts).
Just get 'em done, and then you’ll be able to play BTB without having to worry about challenges for the next week.

Because challenges can involve playing and doing stuff you may not particularly enjoy. That is part of the “challenge”. Also it kinda makes sense that some events would be tied to certain playlist or game types.
