Terrain Editor Thought not possible because of DLC

People keep thinking if there was many possibilities for Halo 4 to happen to have more Forge capabilities like Terrain Editor and such that it won’t happen because of DLC. Instead of DLC maps we can have DLC for Armor for our Characters and even more Forge pieces. If certain people don’t have a “Forge DLC Pack” for a map then they just won’t be able to play the map the host is playing for Custom Games. Simple as that. Just my rant :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

to be honest i agree with this. I dont see why they cant make terrain dlc…grassland dlc pack, arctic terrain dlc, cityscapes dlc, covenent dlc, weather dlc pack, jungle boogie dlc, space the final frontier dlc pack, ect…at best, we could have regular dlc come out included with 1 of these terrain dlc, so we are forced to purchase theirs with it at a fraction higher price, like 1200 MSP for 3 maps…2 regular 1 terrain for each pack…id pay and i know many people would pay for these packs. 343 would be making a higher profit for these dlc, not too mention no need for overlimiting forge anymore because the necessity for that method would no longer apply…just saying i agree with OP and these things could be done to hike up price of them to make 343 money in the process its win win. At the very least trial it…say ok we will do this for halo 4 and if we dont see money come out we will try something different for halo 5 and 6…i realize 343 want to make money and im saying it can be done if done right, by including 4 map pack dlcs…not include a weather dlc and start out with grassland, artic, space, and jungle, and leave it at that, then when halo 5 comes out include all 4 of these plus weather, then when 6 comes out…which im assuming will be the final installation go balls out…include terrain editors, weather makers, armor creation tool, you know just go all out for 6…

Now im not expecting 4 to be over the top, but a terrain editor is a progressive step foward and gives me hope…im just saying though if halo 4 takes a step backwards in forge ill find myself going back to reach for forging. so something will need to be added. if only forgable trees and terrain like chunks of land, then thats fine.

or you could just have DLC for armour and maps, skipping the forge world pieces

another option is, have a search preference on maps so you only get maps with forge world DLC you have

i thing you’re missing the point

OT: so you’re saying that the new Forge world should be a LEGIT blank canvas?

YES!

also a good way around the “Well people who dont buy the dlc wont be able to play” argument is, simply let them play on maps made by these…but disallow saving of the maps if they havent purchased the appropriate dlc, meaning you can play on the map, but you cant save it, thus allowing us to see what can be done with playable content, and allowing us to pay to create and save…i dont see an issue with this.

Whatt hey could do is for example have a different pallet for DLC. Like we have forge world now, maybe a Desert forge world could be a choice to buy with sand instead of grass or granite rock.
