I cannot watch any terminals nor can I watch Nightfall via “Halo Channel”. It seems this is common.
I completed prerequisites and/or paid for this content.
What gives? If the only reliable way to access such content is youtube then why the pretense?

I suspect this won’t be resolved until we get a replacement for the Halo channel with something else.

Last week, I decided on a whim to try Halo Channel (via the “extras” menu in MCC)… and it worked! So I have now seen all of the Halo terminals, Nightfall, and the “second story” episodes!
I Halo on Xbox One. I wonder if anyone else having issues with Halo Channel might also be in luck?
I became enamored of the Halo story less than a year ago. Somehow although I’d played Halo with friends in the past, I hadn’t realize how deep and… ah, cool… the story really is. In December 2019, I came around and decided to play through the entire Master Chief Collection; I also purchased Halo 5 (with Nightfall) around the same time - my plan was to progress through the story in order of release.
Yeah, it took me a while. I don’t spend a lot of time on video games (very often).
In any case, as I played through MCC, terminals for Halo: CE and Halo 2 worked fine… but when I got to Halo 4, I found that those (and Nightfall) did not play at all. My disappointment led me here to Waypoint. I did not ever want to turn to Youtube or other unofficial sources to watch any of the terminals or Nightfall.
Last week, I finished Spartan Ops and thus got to the end of what story I could access by playing MCC. I decided on a whim to try Halo Channel one last time (via the “extras” menu in MCC)… and it worked! So I have now seen all of the Halo terminals, Nightfall, and the “second story” episodes! And without having to “cheat”!
