Skill based matchmaking makes it a sweat-fest in infinite the more you play. If the game has a ton of data about your skill level it makes every match a close one where, if each player doesn’t go all out, you lose.
An example of this is, someone who is skilled in general -even with bad random loadouts-, is likely better than someone who is average/below avg with the best loadouts.
I say this as someone who occasionally plays on another account that has a lower skill level for social feeling matches. On the other account, the MM system expects their team to carry them, which -for me- leads to really chill matches where I don’t have to try and can play like an idiot lol.
However, If I do go all out in these matches I will typically get half the teams total score (or slightly under) on my own and generally have well under 10 deaths. I’m not that good, I’m just also not playing in my league. SBMM is the issue.

Way harder. It’s greatest weakness was infinite’s greatest strength: time. In Infinite’s case, it had been over half a decade since a new game and people were going crazy over the excitement of a brand new product after so long.
In COD’s case, even its most hardcore fans seem to be tiring of the endless yearly releases, especially when they seem to be a downgrade in quality compared to past games. COD would benefit greatly from even one years delay in my opinion.

I guess this thread serves to highlight the fundamental flaw the challenge system brings. Many players are not happy with how progression works in conjunction with unlocks, it burns players out, hard to play with friends because of having different challenges, restricts gameplay and creates frustration around events.
Not to mention new and returning players in between events see that nothing has really changed since there still isn’t anything to do except for finding out you’ve missed content, not really enticing players to stick around. If content were added permanently or at least as Seasonal Objectives aside from the BP at least there will be things to take your time and accomplish, along with friends and would remove the forced game strategy of the time gated events.
It may also be that Time gated events work better when they are sprinkled on top of a content rich game, and not part of the main course for the duration of a season.
