EDIT: I just got unbanned???
Today, I had a fairly long day at work, so I decided to come home and play some H4 Sniper Slayer, and about 2 matches in, I get disconnected, and now I’m banned. It’s only until tomorrow, not that big of a deal, but I just don’t know why I got banned in the first place. I can take out a couple of possible things, like voice chat, I have it entirely disabled in the MCC (reason being that I can be pretty toxic in voice calls), and I was in a Discord voice call with some friends. I obviously don’t exploit either (you can tell by my kdr), and I don’t think it could’ve been because of bad wifi/ping, because I had absolutely terrible ping before I got a new modem. (constantly getting teleported around because of it). I’m on pc if that helps anything.

Getting disconnected counts as you leaving a match, that’ll probably be why you got banned.
The game doesn’t differentiate a disconnect and a player leaving manually, just counts it as the same thing - meaning they both share the same punishment.
If you’ve been banned for a few hours or a day then you’ve probably left or disconnected from multiple matches in a 24 hour period.
I just recorded myself playing a round of Halo 3 snipers. First game I get disconnected/never did connect. Restart matchmaking and it works. Next game connected and I played the whole match then when searching for a new match, all of a sudden I’ve been banned for 2 hours. I’m gonna upload it to YouTube because this keeps happening to me. Try to join matchmaking and I’m guessing because the connection failed on the first game it counted as me leaving. If this keeps happening I think I’ll just play splitgate from now on lol sucks sitting down to rock some Halo and because their servers are jank I can only play one match every 2 hours. And it’s only in the last couple weeks this has been happening. It’s one thing if you keep quiting but if you never even connected to the match it shouldn’t count. Curious if maybe it’s the Nvidia recording software that’s getting me kicked

Thing is, I didn’t disconnect any of the previous matches (that is unless custom games count), however, when it did disconnect me it said something about a player in the fireteam being banned. It only lasted around 5 minutes though, no clue why on that.
