Can’t 343 do something to tell the difference between being booted and quitting!? And it was a halo boot, not live or my connection.
The lost points wouldn’t be so bad but it’s the 30 point penalty that kills it.
I’ve lost a very high rank (for me) because of being booted and it’ll take me forever to get that back, thats if I ever do again before the season is over.
My time is limited, I can’t grind the same play list for hours on end to get my rank back for a simple error.
If it wasn’t a boot that involved connection then it was a boot from either team killing, suicides or idling, and more or less no 343 can’t do anything to tell the difference, if they did it would put a stress on the servers to have to register the form of removal from a lobby if it was from a server boot or from some other mean and then choose if that player get a penalty or not, while I personally don’t have any server problems a lot of others do and more server stress would increase those problems and if those guys are being booted because of the server then it would tax the server more since there is an increase of people leaving lobbies.
TL;DR - basically a butterfly effect could screw the server

It took 20 minutes for it to even register it. That’s plenty of thinking time once the game finished to unfairly take points off me, it should be long enough to decide if I quit or if I got booted. I got booted as the game was starting.
They should just get rid of the 30 point penalty. It doesn’t deter quitters. If people wanna leave a game and don’t quit, they mess about and lose the game anyway. All this penalty system does is punish the honest players that get booted by mistake because of an error.
If you are habitually getting booted. Check your connection. Make sure you are wired, with an open NAT.

It’s not habitually, it happened once and it’s -Yoinked!- me over. I can’t get near where I was ranked now.
I’m saying they should get rid of the penalty for the future and to save other players. It does nothing but harm.
It doesn’t deter quitters, if they’re gonna quit, they quit. If they don’t they don’t play anyway.
All it does is -Yoink- over people when they get booted via a halo error.
Yes this would be a good idea for 343i to look into.
