Tell Us How to Get Your Attention 343i

I’m not sure what the numerous forums, including 343i’s own forums have to do at this point to get the attention for changes with Halo 4 or just even the courtesy of some communication.

Just tell us what we need to do to get your attention or at least understand why large changes aren’t be made in the face of a plummeting population (Yesterday’s peak was 33K and today’s is at 31K). We want to help, waypoint, THC, every other halo forum are full of thousands of die hard fans that now make up the people still playing Halo 4.

I and I think many others just want to know that the criticisms are being heard and which ones are being chosen to drive change in Halo 5. The reality is that we’re all waiting to get some information about the future of Halo and decide to jump ship completely or stay and wade through this bad time for online Halo.

Does our opinion even matter? Judging by the attention to the massive desire for in-game ranks, it has to be no.

The Halo community wants to be heard, we want to help, and we want to know what direction Halo is going in. Just tell us how to have the conversation.

Not buying any halo game that isn’t the golden standard would be a good start. Thats what me and my friends circle are doing.

Edit: Until halo is like halo 2/3 then we aren’t buying any new content or maps. Halo 5 better be perfect. If its not I might buy it 10 years later when it is 5 dollars and then return it after I beat it and say I got the wrong game and get my money back…

beyond that, nothing.

Simply getting a popular enough thread or asking a moderator or admin may be a good place to help know. I am sure they’d be willing to help, but I am not too sure honestly. Perhaps in the feedback threads with constructive criticism may help your endeavors?

You know a few sales lost won’t affect it overall. It’s not like you and your friends are the only ones multiplayer is made around. No hard feelings or hate to you or your friends, just want to point out how pointless it is to do that. An example was a Left for dead two boycott group. On the release date they all had the game, effectively meaning they wasted theirs and other peoples times.

I really don’t understand their thinking at this point…

Us: “The game is too unbalanced, 343!”

Them: “Okay, a TU is coming.”

“…a second TU is coming.”

“…well, we added the ability to balance the sandbox…”

“…”

Even when they say they are going to do something, it has yet to happen. They just keep pushing it back. It’s too the point that even if they started communicating with us, I wouldn’t trust them.

How is it a waste of time to not buy games that are low quality match making. The population speaks for itself mate. Halo 5 will be a flop if they dont get some trust back. It dosen’t matter if a smaller portion of people like halo than before. I know every one dosen’t have the same opinion but the pro community is HUGE.

I think that’s a good point. Between Destiny and the pure hatred for Halo 4, I think Halo 5 will actually be one of the biggest flops in gaming history. What is even more likely though, is that they won’t sell any DLC season passes, which should present a real problem. After all these maps, I think the majority of people are going to shy away from buying all the maps in H5.

I gotta agree with this, casuals are also gonna stick to CoD/BF4. I mean, the casuals all tried Halo 4, but in all seriousness… hardly any of them are gonna convert over to Halo. Even for a loudout game, Halo 4 was sub-par of the competition. Destiny is gonna pull away all the competitive/bungie-faithful. I also agree with the map packs which would hurt any sales post-release. I loved Halo, but after Reach and Halo 4, the series dug a MASSIVE hole in a business where competition is making leaps and strides forward.

Okay. Let me just say to the pair of you. That first of all. The matchmaking isn’t low quality. Explain how it is, since I have had Open, Moderate and Strict NAT’s and found games in a couple minutes on any playlist.

Second of all don’t try to do the whole “Pro community supports this and the game was made for casual n00bs” thing. In the end they are both the same, but one plays to win by any strategy, and the other plays to have fun.

Thirdly. The lower amount of people playing Halo 4 is likely due to something called other game releases. I doubt people buy one game and think to themselves. “Oh well this is so perfect I will never need another game again.”

And last but not least. Don’t predict a flop when bigger and more hyped up games have failed than the halo series. And regardless of this, They will likely sell season passes, it’s what is becoming a standard for games nowadays.

Regardless of this let’s just agree to disagree.

I would go point by point and explain how you’re incorrect, but it’s not like it would change your mind. You are the kind of person who would deny that the sky is blue if it supported your argument.

“The population is absolutely plummeting!” “Oh It MUST be other games, it can’t have anything at all to do with Halo 4 have too many critical flaws”

this basically wraps it up. I mean, Halo is a game that’s been known to be the best and not except any less. If what you say is true, and people aren’t playing Halo 4 because they love other games more… than Halo 4 failed to achieve its ultimate goal. Be the game everyone wants to play.

Rather than a “chat” on the forums…
Write a business letter.
it might show that your truly care… or will get lost in the mail/etc…

First off, frank connor pretty much said in the GDC panel we wanted campaign players and low experienced players to have the game chances of playing against pros via drop pods and other features. They made the game for noobs, YES.

Second off this population is the lowest of ANY halo game 6 months in. It is in comparison, selling less over all, and has the lowest population and drop off of ANY HALO GAME. so your point is invalid because games do come out during every halo game.

And since Halo reach and Halo 4 both went in the same direction of change change change, it will never go back to its core gameplay which is what makes a halo game halo. If you wanted to play COD you play COD if you want to play Sonic you play sonic.

I’ve never woke up one day and said wow, I wish mario could spin dash.

Its the same thing here. Halo dosen’t need ungodly amounts of power weapons. There is no reason for that. Vehicles are useless because of that, excluding mantis which makes the hog COMPLETELY useless on most maps except harvest.

They tried to make balance by making every game like “heavys” like on halo 3. They took out balance on purpose because they think people didn’t want it. and they gift noobs that get a few assists with rocket launchers and snipers with auto aim and bullet magnitisum that is insanely accurate. This game is in all ways, trash and not a real halo game.

> I think that’s a good point. Between Destiny and the pure hatred for Halo 4, I think Halo 5 will actually be one of the biggest flops in gaming history. I definitely will not be pre-ordering a copy of Halo 5. The amount of money that was (and is still being) poured into marketing for Halo 4 is just sickening. It makes you wonder how many “critics” they paid to give this game a high rating.

343i hears us very well, and we can tell that there listening to us because of the new TU, Majestic Map Pack’s success, Forge Island, and the new game types. They also hired Bravo to help out the competitive side of Halo 4. 343 is doing a very good job in my eyes.
