Teleport in halo 4. How it could be balanced.

I have a teleport slayer gametype(only available on harvest) and i played it with my friends(5v5) and we played multiple games and yet we couldnt figure out the inbalance and why it wasnt added it does everything the thruster pack doesnt.

  • dodge vehicles
    -gets you out of rocket luancher splash damage
  • BEATS THE BOLTSHOT
    And what makes it more balanced it the fact that you CANNOT go through walls and there is a long recharge time so you wont fo crazy with it. And there is a arrow on your back so everyone see that you have teleport so they can adjust their tactics. Maybe if they nerf the distance but either way it would of been a good move for 343 especially in spartan ops against charging knights, hunters, and elite samurais or elite fuel rods. Maybe not in war games but definately spartan ops and custom games. Or maybe 343 is putting out these mods to show fans how awesome halo would of been if they finished it i still love halo 4 but with the “godzilliacide”,“hacker and teleport” this game would of been epic and fun to play with friends.

Being able to teleport basically gives you an escape route each and every life without even trying.

Right there is your imbalance.

I’d love to see a custom gametype with it. I don’t think I’d want to see it in matchmaking though.

I agree maybe if they tone down the distance because you go really far with it almost like the flood thruster pack without the flying across the map part

When 343 were making it they didnt remove it because it was unbalanced, they removed it because they prefered the thruster pack and it didnt make sence to have both of them both

You got a point. I can already imagine the hate threads from the competitive community saying its worse then Armor Lock.

i thought they left it out mainly due to the fact there was a 50/50 chance of just dropping dead when the teleport ended and it wouldn’t be balanced in time for ship or something

AAs belong in firefight and campaign. Throwing magic into a soccer match doesn’t work apparently.

What happens to the truster pack?

AAs don’t belong in MM. If I had to choose then Active Camo, Jetpack and maybe Promethean Vision would be removed and the others would stay.

You know what would be cool? A new Forerunner grenade that composes you and recomposes you where it hits the ground (as in, teleports you to where you throw it). But I’m not sure I would like that for custom loadouts…

That’s not even mentioning the massive advantage it gives you in fights, being able to surprise the enemy from behind.

It becomes a even more Useless AA

This is a discussion about a concept really. Also, Knights have it. Pre-release, there was a screenshot that showed a Knight with Sprint. Now we know that was a placeholder for teleport afaik.

@op you have to keep in mind that the modders may have added their own visual cues/effects to compensate for the lack of them. The teleporting looks a lot like the fuel rod and AAs no longer have a hologram display.

Anyways, I’d love to see a tweaked teleport for Spartan Ops. But being able to select it would make it an utility AA. I think it’d be better for us to start off a mission killing a Promethean Knight and picking it up first. That’d be a good way to introduce it.

Might be a laugh in custom games.
