Anyway, do you think Halo 5 (and by extent 6) should be M rated instead of T? I know that there isn’t really a lot of ‘gore’ in the Haloverse, but do you think these games should be presented in a more mature (but not necessarily gruesome) setting? I understand their reasons for the T rating in H5, but I feel that the M rating should return for H6 and beyond. To me, that has always been the way Halo has been presented.
Let me know what you think. And please, keep it clean.
Edit: I know there the rating isn’t the most important aspect. I was just wondering.
I never felt it warranted an M-rating (except Reach). The rating won’t keep the kids out.
When did have ever deserve a Mature rating ever really? If Halo 3 released today it probably would get a T honestly. Halo has always been the most tame M rated game ever IMO. So no it doesn’t bother or matter to me if this Halo or even future Halo gets a M or T rating. There are more things to worry about than it’s rating. Like having stable servers, an intriguing story, and a well polished with lots of featured game.

This is true. Also the other staples of “mature” games (sexuality, very explicit language, drug/alcohol use) aren’t super prevalent in the Halo franchise. Really the blood and gore was the only determiner of the rating, and that doesn’t really make the game.
Now for my thoughts, M rating gives the game a certin novelty. M rating litterally translates to mature, which would suggest an audience who has gone through their developing stages and can comprehend more adult subjects, which war is very much a part of. (Also an alien parasite)
A teen rating can make the game feel a bit more childish and rather slow for an older audience. Teens are still growing and learning about life, so they can’t always be trusted with harsher topics and be expected to fully grasp them. Think about the flood, that’s some pretty messed up stuff right there for a young adult to make sense of. (Children on the other hand will tend to bypass the more gruesome aspects due to there lack of understanding and wont think much of it)

A more mature setting? More mature than what? Because it seems to me like Halo 5 is just as “mature” as the rest of the Halo games.
Honestly most of the things in a Halo game are nothing more than any T+ rated manga.
If there was a T+ rating, I believe Halo would fit comfortably in there while keeping to some level of ‘realism.’
No matter if Halo were to continue to be a T or an M, there would still be ten year olds who would play it, much like there are 10 year olds who play GTA5.

I think Halo 6 would to good to have blood splatters and an M rating. Maybe not blood splatters like Halo CE but it could use that effect.
It literally doesn’t mean much of anything.
Halo was barely an M rated game to begin with. On top of that, the standards for an M rating seems to have changed over the years.
Halo 4 only has the M rating because of the scientist turning into dust. Otherwise both Halo 4 and Halo 5 have the same summary.
I mean, the game is still PEGI 16, just like every other Halo.
I think it should be an M rated game…I will list 3 reasons why…
1. The flood are returning and I don’t want them ruined
2. Halo has always had gore and its one of the key things that make Halo HALO. Do you remember in Halo Combat Evolved how awesome it was when you looked at a battlefield and saw all different colors of blood from the Covenant? It really enforced that feeling of fighting against ALIENS that we don’t know too much about.
3. It doesn’t make a difference in audience…It isn’t going to attract more new players. Halo 3 was a M rated game yet a big part of the community are Teens and Kids.
