I just watched Ted 2 and I got to say…LOTS of Halo 5 shots thrown in that movie like vip passes worn by chatacters, cosplay shots…billboards…Screen Shots right next to the main chatacters all set in the New York Comicon, which as we know happens mid october…
Yeah Halo and cough Call of Duty cough has been the “front mark” of video gaming in comedic movies, it conveys a sense of socialism, modernity and humor.
The amount of Halo in that movie was only overshadowed by the amount of Transformers and MLP.
Hasbro’s depiction in that movie was really meta at times. At some point you’d think they say they didn’t want to be depicted like that, people think of them like that as it is.
Same goes for 343, do they really want Halo to be seen on that giant TV in that particular scene? I guess it’s all screen time at the end of the day.

Yes…because it’s exposure. Also 2 major chatacters have halo 5 VIP passes right on their chests during some of the scenes, all in perfect view.
Halo has been used as a plot base of ‘video gamer’ -Yoink- stars too. It’s in movies, television shows, etc. It’s just a product placement, as well as a way of free advertising, and showing the people playing as ‘hip’ or with the times. They had Halo 2 in The Shield, but if you watch the guy on the controller, or his friends (it was a single player campaign), he and his friends were playing with the arbiter being the only character on the screen. Lol
