Hi everyone,
i want to start this discussion to understand together with you what could be the technical limitations that prevented Halo 5 from having the Selectable server system that every other respectful multiplayer games has like GOW4, Titanfall 2, BF1 and so on.
I really think this is a terrible lack, and whatever are the reasons behind this choice they’ll cannot be never enough good to justify the absence of such an useful feature, made with the only purpose of helping people to get the best experience possible.
I think that ranking system (and consequently player filters based on ranks) are the main cause of this: i remember when Josh Holmes reassured us about the presence of selectable server, disappointing many players when on game release this feature was absent. I don’t think 343 is stupid, i think instead that filtering on players’ rank and also filtering on server choice is asking too much to the system and, because of this difficulty, they have chosen ranks above connection quality.
Bad move if you watch less “halo populated” areas where high rank people (like me most of the season) cannot be matched with anyone because there are not enough player at near ranks. But this is just my opinion.
Have you guys any thoughts about this subject or other plausible explanation for the absence of Selectable Servers?
How bad is for you the absence of this feature?
Thanks in advance.
