Tech Preview - Useless if you don't get the survey

It seems that just a very small portion of players are getting the surveys after the Tech Previews are over.

This translates into having so many issues that are not being mentioned in this surveys, like how guns won’t generate any kind of illumination, how you still see the half of your body when you look down to your legs, the lack of servers for so many countries, the noticable downgrade of the destruction of vehicles compared to previous Halo games, and so many other details that were present in a 2001 game but not in a 2021 “next gen” game.

Yep, but they are reading what we post here, twitter and reddit!!! Don’t forget to submit tickets!!! /s - more like ignoring. But I get it, if we sat 10 halo players in a room, brought up 10 various issues gameplay balance wise, we could likely all only completely agree on 1-3 of them.

How is detail less than ce on vehicles?

Uh, what do you mean?

The surveys are a sample group to paint a picture of the wider audience. By doing this they can get more intricate feedback than just a simple 1-5 type survey which may not be as useful.

There will be getting feedback all over different social media platforms as well as these forums. Some things they will change as a result of player feedback and some stuff they will not.

Generally feedback has been very positive and all the polls I have seen that have 10k+ votes have been very positive. It’s clear from the first flight they are taking feedback on board.

Unfortunately your feedback may not represent a large number of players opinions. A lot of what you have said though has come up on these forums so no doubt will be on their radar as item to assess and hopefully address.

Pretty straightforward sentence pal not sure how to make it any clearer.

I’m asking what he means by this. Because I don’t see where he is coming from.
Halo CE being what he is referring to by saying “a 2001 game”.

There are eight official dedicated sticky threads in this Halo Infinite game forum with a combined 4,843 replies between them. And lets not forget the megathread conversations taking place in the que, and on other social media platforms.

The real struggle is sifting through all the nonsense to find real actionable criticisms.

I meant a downgrade in general, like how guns in Halo Infinite won’t generate light considering they did in Halo CE. The warthog destruction is a downgrade of a 2004 game, Halo 2

What scares me is that Halo Infinite it’s kinda getting way too overrated, ignoring some stuff that are important to some Halo fans. Also they should say how old this build was, cause maybe it was the same build from the first preview.

That’s my point, many of the things I’ve said represent not that many Halo fans (mainly Halo CE, 2 and 3 fans). Still I feel that many of this details made Halo what it is and we are way too close to launch.

My problem is mainly with campaign, specially if it is semi-open world.

Unfortunately we outgrow some things and some things outgrow us.

I’m an OG Halo fan and I’m actually really excited about the prospect of open world.

Me too, maybe it will be a experience similar to Metro Exodus. But we need more information, I hope the gameplay trailer comes up soon

In general? The illumination bug i can understand.
But you have now gone from 2001 to 2004 and I’m none the wiser. How is the destruction a downgrade. Can you provide an example?
I honestly don’t see how that’s the case.
Also you should reply to people in one post not post consecutively. Easiest way of doing so is to reply to the first then edit the post to reply chronologically.
Also also. You are providing feedback by virtue of making a thread. So how was it useless?

Go destroy a warthog in Halo 2 and compare it to Halo Infinite.

You could not destroy vehicles in the first Halo, so your “2001 game” argument is a bit off lmao

You could destroy the covey vehicles but I get what you’re saying.
I just don’t understand what he’s getting at. How are 343 supposed to act on his feedback when all he says is “look at (insert game here)” Give specifics!

They’ve been very transparent that only a small portion of players would get a survey. This has always been the case. Having 100,000’s of fully detailed surveys to read is a unrealistic expectation you have for 343i, to get through all of that & implement actual good feedback would take months and months.

There are dedicated feedback threads within the Infinite forums - where this thread is located. Those dedicated feedback threads are read by 343i on a daily basis, they’re there for a reason. If anything more threads like this that bash the game because it’s “not finished”, help to block actual feedback & discussion within the rest of the forum.

This build is likely 2 months old just like that last one was. There are going to be things that aren’t finished yet, it’s a technical preview flight, if you were expecting a finished product then I’m sorry to say you’ve set your expectations very wrong.

For clarity,

  • You can see more of your legs with a wider FOV setting. The default is quite zoomed in. - Full global server support isn’t likely set up for the preview flight. They’re trying to stress test servers - with this not being accessible to everyone as it’s a preview, they want to cram people into a smaller subset of servers to see how it performs under pressure. - Vehicle destruction has actually been fully revamped in Halo Infinite - I don’t know what you’ve been seeing but it’s clearly not what everyone else is. Damage to parts of a vehicle will destroy them & affect performance. There are also dents, scrapes & chipping of paint & plating of vehicles when they’re shot. Where was all of that in older Halo games? Right, it wasn’t because it didn’t exist until now.

I think the one thing you arent understanding is that they do read the feedback forum. the single feedback forum that is posted officially days before the flight launches.

They said as much themselves before this fligbt launched. In addition to the feedback surveys.

Post in the feedback forums they make specifically for feedback and trust me they’ll see it.

The results of that are going to leave me even more baffled.
Do you have any specific details.
All this thread is doing is proving 343i’s logic in limiting surveys because how useless some peoples feedback is.
Give more actionable detail. Just saying worse is no help to anyone.
How exactly is it worse?
