Teammates plasma pistoling your Mantis

This is what just happened the first game I had the operater perk and was excited to try it out- get a good spawn and get in Mantis, teammate melees the mantis, teammate sticks the mantis twice putting me at no shields.

I must be having a rare spate of luck in Halo 4, because (in Wargames anyway) I still have yet to have ANY purposeful vehicle BS to deal with. The occasional accidental splattering by a careless Ghost driver or people not paying attention while sniping or something…but never this kind of thing that people keep saying happens ‘all the time’.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully believe it happens. I know there are some people that painfully immature and trollish to do that. I still remember the days in Reach when you would get betrayed every other time you dared pick up a power-weapon.

I dunno if there is a work-around for this. Like, would turning off Friendly Fire for vehicles actually extend to Plasmas etc? That’s the only way I can see it being implemented. Either that or a proper in-game report system, or something… shrug

Maybe it happens more in low Trueskill matches? I know most of the guys who do that don’t make it far up the ladder, and typically my teammates don’t do things like that (rarely, yes, but most of the time they don’t).

Hell, I’ve even had teammates that were the opposite. I was running for a Binary Rifle ordinance, a teammate got there first and turned just in time to see me running to it, look at me, then swapped the Binary for his old weapon so I could have it.

I’ve had similar experiences in the most recent episode of spartan ops. In the mission where the mantis spawns, two guys grabbed them and spent fifteen minutes just blowing up the other two that spawn so we couldn’t complete the mission. They need to be immune to friendly fire, in my opinion.

I must be lucky, so far it happened to me only once, a game just started and a guy almost destroyed my Mantis just because I took it before him. It’s like a 5 years old kid fighting another “this is MY toy don’t touch it! If you don’t give it to me I’ll call my mommy!!”, even when I was 10 I wasn’t behaving like that, how old was the guy who did that to me in Ragnarok? I asked him in a message but he didn’t reply. Oh and guess what, again like a little kid who’s proud because he felt he won the “this-toy-is-mine” fight, when I left the Mantis as it was too damaged he took it… Of course he didn’t last one second on the battlefield. I didn’t get to enjoy the vehicle, he didn’t either but the opposing team got lots of very easy points, just how wrong is that?!
I wish I knew who was that jerk on the other side of the screen. At least I’d know if it really was a 5 years-old boy (parents where are you?) or if it was an extremely stupid teenager/adults (I wanted to write “re.tarded” but the forum changes the word for “limited” lol). Just curious, some stuff happening online in different games make me wonder who am I playing with/against…

I do this all the time!

> I do this all the time!

You do what? I can’t imagine you mean that you destroy your team mates vehicles because you can’t get them so I needed to ask what you meant. O.o

I destroy the vehicles.

Not because I don’t get them but it’s just how I have fun.

Sorry you had to deal with that, MR Tags. Children like that seldom advance considering team coordination and cooperation are what cause higher skilled players to win and lower skilled players to stagnate and lose.
Remember its just a bunch of pixels on your screen leave feedback and quit. Or get him with a righteous betrayal later. Either way remember those kids will always lose. They have been around since the first anonymous stranger joined a multiplayer server and shot someone over a sniper rifle, and they will continue to be there forever.

Just another reason why I don’t play with Randy. And if by some slim chance I do and he begins doing this, I just give them the vehicle and do it back to them

You’re a funny guy.

It’s Halo 4. A lot like any Halo multiplayer you’re going to come across Unsporting Conduct/Behavior, mostly from the younger populous of players who seem to think it’s their god given right to get the Mantis/Scorpion every game.
Unfortunately there is only about one thing we as players can do; If they get on your nerves enough, and repeat offenses such as draining vehicle shields, file an in game behavior complaint or submit a player review. Don’t stoop to their level.
Unsporting Conduct is the felony of offenses.

Nothing anyone can do about this except do the same thing to them. You think you being dragged down to their level, who cares. Get more then 5 kills and your good :relaxed:

You deserve to die.

Seems like you had the case of angry 10 year old ragers, very common when you take something they want, such as a sniper rifle or mantis because they think there ten times better at using them, so they do everything they can to get you out, all i do is either drop it and see them look at there absoulte noobyness with it, or I show them up and get tons of kills in it to make them look bad either way win - win situation

Its a very useful feature. I dont often do this, but i was playing with friends and this one kid wasted the mantis at the start, thats np, but we saw him literally just sit on the mantis spawn all game, doing nothing else then wait for the mantis and then drive, fail with it, etc. So we all went to plasma pistol his last mantis the rest of the game since we already had the lead, much joy from his microphone when he got killed by the enemy banshee.

Halo always had friendly fire.

…Is there a way to set people as avoided players from the website?
